He should not wear a shirt, a turban, trousers, a hooded cloak, or leather socks except if he cannot find sandals; he may wear leather socks after cutting them to make them lower than the ankles When the night approaches from this side, and the day retreats from that side, then it is time for the fasting person to break his fast Zakah is not due on what is less than five ounces, nor on what is less than five camels, nor on what is less than five Wasqs O Messenger of Allah, I had vowed, before embracing Islam, to make I‘tikāf for one night – another narration reads: for one day – the Sacred Mosque. He said: Then fulfill your vow. If I had formerly known what I came to know lately, I would not have brought the sacrificial animal with me. Had there been no sacrificial animal with me, I would have ended my state of lhrām In Madīnah, there are people who are with you whenever you cover a distance or cross a valley. They have been detained by illness The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) instructed us that during a journey we need not to take off our leather socks for up to three days and nights, except in case of major ritual impurity. In other cases such as sleeping, relieving oneself, or urinating, it is sufficient to wipe over leather socks The blood of a Muslim is inviolable except by one of three: adultery by a married person, a life for a life (homicide), abandoning Islam and separating from the Islamic body For you, Yazīd, is (the reward for) what you intended, and for you, Ma‘in, is what you took The son of Adam does not fill any vessel worse than his stomach. It is enough for the son of Adam to eat a few mouthfuls to straighten his back, but if he must (fill his stomach), then one third for his food, one third for his drink, and one third for his breath Avoid what I have forbidden you from; and do as much as you can, of what I have ordered you. Indeed, those before you were ruined because of their excessive questioning and disagreeing with their prophets Whoever repents before the sun rises from the west, Allah will accept his repentance By Allah! I ask Allah for forgiveness and repent to Him more than seventy times a day An army will invade the Ka‘bah and when it reaches a desert, all of them will be swallowed up by the earth The deeds of my Ummah, the good and the bad thereof, were presented to me. I found the removal of harm from the road among their good deeds, and the spittle in a mosque that was not buried among their bad deeds O Usāmah, you killed him after he had said "there is no god but Allah"? I did not miss any battle with the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) except the battle of Tabūk. In fact, I did not take part in the battle of Badr, but none who failed to take part in it was blamed The garment that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) liked most was the Qamīs (long shirt) Whenever the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) finished eating, he would say: Allah be praised with an abundant, sincere, and blessed praise. O our Lord, You are not in need of anyone, and we cannot do without Your favor nor dispense with it When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) missed prayer at night because of sickness or otherwise, he would pray twelve Rak‘ahs during the daytime The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to stand in prayer at night until the skin of his feet would crack The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) offered the funeral prayer in absentia for the Negus, and I was in either the second or the third row Hadīth of Dhu al-Yadayn concerning the prostration of forgetfulness Jibrīl came to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and said: How do you rate the people who participated in the battle of Badr among you? He said: They are from the best of Muslims The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to stand by the trunk of a date-palm tree while delivering the sermon. When a pulpit was placed in the mosque, we heard the trunk crying out like a pregnant she-camel until the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) came down from the pulpit and placed his hand over it and it became quiet. The believer should not be stung twice from the same hole Between the two blows (of the Trumpet), there will be (an interval of) forty. The people said: O Abu Hurayrah, do you mean forty days? He said: I cannot say anything They lead you in prayers. If they do well, then you will be rewarded; but if they make mistakes, then you will receive reward and the mistake will be theirs Allah, Glorified and Exalted, wonders at those people who will enter Paradise in chains O Allah, treat harshly those who rule over my nation with harshness and treat gently those who rule over my nation with gentleness I was walking with the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and he was wearing a Najrāni cloak with a thick hem. A Bedouin approached him and pulled him violently by his cloak Shall I not inform of whom Hellfire is forbidden for? Or he is forbidden for Hellfire? It is forbidden for someone who is accessible, lenient, tender, and easy to get along with "He is in Hellfire." The people then went to look at him and found in his place a cloak which he had stolen from the war booty Verily, Allah has made me a noble slave, not an obstinate tyrant During the Prophet's lifetime, we would eat while walking and would drink while standing How can I be at ease when the one with the trumpet has put his lips to the trumpet waiting to hear the order to blow it? Do not say "upon you be peace"; "Upon you be peace" is how you greet the dead. Say instead "peace be upon you" Be patient, for no time will come but will be followed by a worse one until you meet your Lord During the battle of Tabūk, the people suffered famine, so they said: O Messenger of Allah, grant us permission to slaughter our camels to eat and use their fat. The Messenger said: You may do that War is deception O Messenger of Allah, would I be rewarded for Abu Salāmah's children that I spend on them so as not to leave them like this and like that, while they are my children? He said: Yes, you will be rewarded for what you spend on them In the time of the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) we would not find such food except rarely. So if we found it, we had no napkins except our palms, forearms, and feet. Then we would pray without making (a new) ablution When Allah created the creation, He wrote in a book, which is with Him over the Throne: Verily, My mercy predominates over My anger The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) never found fault with any food. If he liked it, he would eat; and if he disliked it, he would leave it Whatever good I have, I will not withhold from you. Whoever tries to be chaste, Allah will make him chaste; whoever tries to be self-sufficient, Allah will make him self-sufficient; whoever tries to be patient, Allah will make him patient. No one is granted a gift better and ampler than patience My example and your example is that of a person who lit a fire, and grasshoppers and moths began to fall in it, while he is attempting to push them away. I am holding you back from the fire, but you are slipping from my hand The martyrs are five: the one who dies from plague, who dies from an abdominal disease, who drowns, who dies because debris fell on him, and the one who dies fighting in the cause of Allah The Messenger of Allah dispatched a secret troop of ten men under the leadership of ‘Āsim ibn Thābit al-Ansāri O Allah, forgive those of us who are living and those of us who are dead, those of us who are young and those who are old, those of us who are males and those who are females, and those of us who are present and those who are absent. O Allah, whoever of us You give life, let him live upon Islam, and whoever of us You take in death, let him die in a state of faith. O Allah, deprive us not of his reward, and subject us not to temptation after his death O Allah, so-and-so the son of so-and-so is under Your protection and mercy. So, protect him from the trial of the grave and the torture of Hellfire. You are worthy of fulfilling promises and worthy of praise. O Allah, forgive him and have mercy upon him, as You are the Most Forgiving and the Most Merciful O Allah, You are my Supporter and my Helper. With Your help I get strength, and with Your help I pounce upon the enemy and defeat it, and with Your help I fight Indeed, the eyes shed tears and the heart is grieved, and we do not say except what pleases our Lord. And indeed, over your departure, O Ibrahīm, we are grieved The tourism of my nation is Jihad in the path of Allah, the Exalted Two supplications are never rejected, or are rarely rejected: supplication made upon hearing the call to prayer and during battle when the two armies are engaged in fighting You will receive seven hundred she-camels in return for it on the Day of Resurrection, all wearing bridles There were among the nations before you people who were inspired. If there is any of such among my followers, then it is ‘Umar We used to speak during prayer; a man would talk with his companion at his side in the prayer until [this verse] was revealed: {...And stand before Allah in devout obedience.} So we were commanded to keep silent, such that we were forbidden to talk A man came while the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was giving the Friday sermon. So he said to him: O So and so, have you prayed? He said: No. The Prophet said: Then get up and pray two Rak‘ahs The prayer of fear in the expedition of Dhāt Ar-Riqā‘ I accompanied the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) on his journeys, and he would not perform more than two Rak‘ahs. Abu Bakr, ‘Umar, and ‘Uthmān used to do the same ‘Aqra Halqa! Did she perform the Tawāf on the Day of An-Nahr? It was said: Yes. He said: Then you can depart I prayed behind the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) the funeral prayer of a woman who died in her postpartum period, and he was standing by the middle of her body The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) prayed over a grave after he had been buried, making four Takbīrs The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) appointed a man in charge of an army unit who led them in prayer; he always concluded his recitation with Sūrat al-Ikhlās A solar eclipse occurred during the Prophet's lifetime and he sent someone to summon people for a congregational prayer. They gathered and he came forward and began the prayer by making Takbīr. He bowed four times and prostrated four times in two Rak‘ahs The sun and the moon are two of the signs of Allah; they do not eclipse on the death or life of anyone. So when you see that, supplicate to Allah, say Takbīr, pray, and give charity The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to start the prayer with Takbīr and then read: All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds. When he bowed, he neither raised his head nor lowered it, but kept it in between I used to sleep in front of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) with my legs in his prayer direction. When he wanted to prostrate, he would prod me so that I withdraw my feet, and when he stood up, I would stretch them. In those days, houses had no lamps At every part of the night, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) prayed Witr: at its beginning, middle, and end. Finally he settled on performing Witr just before dawn The people of Kufa complained to ‘Umar ibn al-Khattāb about their governor Sa‘d. He dismissed him and appointed ‘Ammār as their governor A mount was brought to ‘Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) to ride on, and when he put his foot in the stirrup, he said: In the name of Allah The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) went out to invoke Allah for rain. He faced the direction of Qiblah as he was invoking Allah, and turned his upper garment inside out. Then he prayed two Rak‘ahs and recited the Qur'an out loud in both of them I prayed with ‘Imrān ibn Husayn behind ‘Ali ibn Abi Tālib. When he prostrated, he made Takbīr, when he raised his head he made Takbīr, and when he stood up after two Rak‘ahs, he made Takbīr The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was shrouded in some white Yemeni garments, with neither a shirt nor a turban The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite two Sūrahs to read in the Fajr prayer on Friday: Sūrat As-Sajdah and Sūrat al-Insān. I heard the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) reciting Sūrat At-Tūr in the Maghrib prayer The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) Abu Bakr, and ‘Umar used to offer the Eid prayers before delivering the sermon When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was on a journey, he used to combine the Zhuhr and ‘Asr prayers, as long as he was continuing with his journey, and also used to combine the Maghrib and ‘Ishā' prayers Injustice will be excessive darkness on the Day of Judgment If you are three, then two should not converse privately with the exclusion of the third, until more people join you, because that would grieve him All human beings are sinners, and the best of the sinners are the frequent repenters Anyone pledges allegiance to a ruler, giving him the grasp of his hand and sincerity of his heart, he should obey him to the best of his capacity. If another man comes forward disputing his authority, then you should behead the latter No one of you should drink while standing No man should move another from the place he is sitting then sit in it. Instead, make room and spread out The young should greet the old, the passer-by should greet the one who is sitting, and the small group of people should greet the larger one When a group of people pass by, it is sufficient if one of them extends the greetings on their behalf, and it is sufficient if one returns the greeting on behalf of a group When any of you is putting on his shoes, let him start with the right foot; and when he is taking them off, let him start with the left foot. Let the right foot be the first when putting on the shoes and the last when taking them off The pleasure of Allah is in the pleasure of the parents, and the displeasure of Allah is in the displeasure of the parents Eat, drink, wear clothes, and give charity without extravagance or pride None of you should walk wearing one shoe; either wear both of them or take them both off It is one of the major sins when a man abuses his parents. It was asked: Would a man ever abuse his parents? He replied: Yes. He abuses the father of another man, who in return abuses his father, and he abuses his mother, and so the latter abuses the former’s mother Whoever listens to the talk of some people while they dislike that, molten lead shall be poured into his ears on the Day of Judgment I have never prayed behind an Imām who was more brief and more perfect in prayer than the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) Read the Qur’an, as it will come as an intercessor for its companions on the Day of Resurrection Was handshake common among the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him)? He replied: Yes I will lead you in prayer; although I do not intend to pray, it is just to show you how I witnessed the Messenger of Allah pray It would have been better if you had recited Sūrat al-A‘la, Sūrat Ash-Shams, or Sūrat al-Layl, for the old, the weak, and the needy pray behind you The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) announced the death of the Negus on the day he had died. He took the people to the prayer place, lined them up, and made four Takbīrs Whoever attends a funeral until he offers the funeral prayer will get a reward equal to one Qirāt; and whoever attends it until the dead person is buried will get a reward equal to two Qirāts. It was asked: What are the two Qirāts? He replied: Like two huge mountains We used to perform the Friday prayer with the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and leave at a time when the walls had no shadow that we could take as shelter The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to deliver two sermons while standing, and he would separate them by sitting The Messenger (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) prayed on the Day of An-Nahr, then delivered a sermon, then slaughtered (an animal) and said: Whoever slaughtered before praying should slaughter another animal instead, and whoever has not yet slaughtered should slaughter while mentioning Allah's name The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon after having offered the prayer on Eid al-Ad'ha. He said: Whoever prayed our prayer and slaughtered our sacrifice has properly observed the ritual. And whoever slaughtered (his sacrifice) before the (Eid) prayer has not observed the ritual Shall I inform you about the most beloved words by Allah? They are: Glory belongs to Allah and praise is due to Him Travel is a portion of torment If any of you is assigned by us to a position but conceals a needle or more from us, it will amount to misappropriation and he will be called upon to restore it on the Day of Judgment Whoever gives up wearing elegant expensive clothes out of humbleness with Allah, while he can afford it, Allah will call him on the Day of Judgment before all people and let him choose whichever of the garments of faith he would like to wear The one who is afraid (of the pillage of the enemy) sets out in the early part of the night, and the one who sets out early will reach his destination. Verily, the commodity of Allah is precious. Verily, the commodity of Allah is Paradise Whoever does not show mercy will not be shown mercy Whoever passes through any of our mosques or markets with arrows with him, he should hold them by their heads lest he injures any of the Muslims with them Whoever sleeps and fails to recite his nightly portion, or part of it, and then recites it between the Fajr prayer and the Zhuhr prayer, it will be recorded for him as if he recited it during the night Among them are those whom the fire will reach up to their ankles, others up to their knees, others up to their waists, and others up to their collarbones The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) called for water, and he was brought a wide shallow vessel with some water in it. He put his fingers in it What an excellent dip vinegar is! What an excellent dip vinegar is None of you should drink while standing, and whoever forgets, then let him induce vomit The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited drinking directly from the mouth of a waterskin The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade turning the waterskins upside down and drinking from their mouths that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited blowing in one's drink By the One in Whose hand my soul is, if you were not to commit sins, Allah would replace you with people who would commit sins and then seek forgiveness from Allah, the Almighty, who would then forgive them O Jibrīl, go to Muhammad and say: Verily, We will please you with regard to your Ummah and will not displease you I passed by the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and my lower garment was trailing. Therefore, he said: O ‘Abdullāh, pull up your lower garment. I raised it and he said: Up! So I raised it further, and I have been doing so since then. Some people said: Up to where? He said: To the middle of the shins Every person will be resurrected in the same state he died in Allah, Glorified and Exalted, laughs at two men, one of them kills the other, yet both enter Paradise. This one fights in the cause of Allah, so he gets killed. Then Allah accepts the repentance of the killer, so he becomes a Muslim and dies as a martyr People will rise from their graves and stand before the Lord of the Worlds. Some of them will get submerged in their perspiration up to the middle of their ears Hellfire will be brought on that Day with seventy thousand bridles; and with each bridle, there will be seventy thousand angels pulling it O Allah, cure Sa‘d, O Allah, cure Sa‘d O Allah, forgive my past and future sins, and my secret and open sins O Allah, forgive me, bestow Your mercy on me, and join me with the exalted companions O Allah, we ask You to ward them off (from their throats), and we seek Your protection against their evil The lasting good deeds are the statements: There is no god but Allah, glory be to Allah, Allah is the greatest, praise be to Allah, there is no power or might except with Allah O Allah, I ask You by virtue of my testimony that You are Allah; there is no God but You, the One, the Eternal Refuge, Who did not beget, and was not begotten, and to Whom no one is equal O Allah, just as You made my external form beautiful, make my character beautiful as well The believer who mixes with people and patiently bears their annoyance is better than the believer who does not mix with people or patiently bear their annoyance A believer is the mirror of his fellow believer Verily you cannot embrace and suffice all people with your money, but you can embrace and suffice them all with a cheerful face and good manners If you insist on sitting there, then give the road its due rights. They said: What are its rights? He said: Lowering the gaze, refraining from doing harm (to others), returning the greeting, enjoining what is good, and forbidding what is evil Never does the son of Adam do any deed that can save him from Allah's punishment more than remembering Allah Whoever exalts himself over others and walks with a swaggering gait (with pride), will meet Allah while He is angry with him Woe to him who speaks and tells lies so as to make people laugh thereby. Woe to him! Woe to him! Allah, the Almighty, says: I am with My slave as long as he remembers Me and his lips move saying My Name O Allah, Lord of mankind, Remover of harm. Cure, You are the Curer. There is no curer but You. A cure that leaves behind no illness The Ash‘aris, if they ran short of provisions while on a military expedition, or if their children did not have enough food in Madīnah Allah, Glorified and Exalted, will say on the Day of Judgment: O son of Adam, I was ill, but you did not visit Me If a Muslim visits his sick fellow Muslim, he will remain in the Khurfah of Paradise tills he leaves returns A woman came to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) with a woven mantle A woman from the tribe of Juhaynah came to the Prophet while she was pregnant from adultery The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was given something to drink, so he drank from it, and there was a boy on his right None of you should wish for death. Either he is a doer of good, so he may do more good; or he is an evildoer, so he may give up evil deeds Whenever the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) ate food, he would lick his three fingers ‘Umar ibn al-Khattāb (may Allah be pleased with him) allocated a sum of four thousand dirhams for each of the early Muhājirūn A slave girl of Madīnah would take hold of the hand of the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and would take him wherever she wished I came to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) while he was giving a sermon That he passed by some boys, so he greeted them with Salām and said that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to do so As for this man, he has disobeyed the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) Whoever is presented with basil should not decline it. Indeed, it is light to carry and pleasant to smell The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) heard a man praising another and exaggerating in his praise, whereupon he said: You have ruined - or cut - the man's back. Woe unto you! You have cut the neck of your companion When you see those who praise others, throw dust upon their faces If you get news of the outbreak of a plague in a land, do not enter it, and if it breaks out in a land in which you are, do not leave it The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) forbade traveling with the Qur’an to the land of enemies I see that you like sheep and wilderness. So whenever you are with your sheep - or in the wilderness - and you want to call the Adhān, raise your voice I gave the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) a zebra as a gift O Messenger of Allah, who is the best among people? While Ayyūb (peace be upon him) was taking a bath, naked, golden locusts began to fall upon him While a man was walking through a barren land, he heard a voice coming out of a cloud If a man calls his wife to fulfill his desire, she should come to him even if she is busy with the oven When one of you feels drowsy during prayer, let him lie down till drowsiness goes away from him Give my cloak back to me. Were I to have camels equal to the number of these trees, I would distribute them all among you, and you would not have found me a miser, a liar, or a coward Will you not listen? Will you not listen? Simplicity is part of faith, simplicity is part of faith I guarantee a house on the outskirts of Paradise for the one who refrains from arguing even if he is right Let him, and pour a bucket or pail of water onto his urine. You were sent to make things easy and not to make them difficult They left me no alternative but that they either beg of me importunately or regard me as a miser, and I am not a miser What is left of it (the sheep)? She replied: Nothing is left except its shoulder. He said: All of it is left except its shoulder The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) made a bond of brotherhood between Salmān and Abu Ad-Dardā'. Salmān paid a visit to Abu Ad-Dardā' and found his wife, Um Ad-Dardā', dressed in a shabby manner and asked her why she was in that state. She replied, "Your brother Abu Ad-Dardā' is not interested in (the pleasures of) this world." Later, Abu Ad-Dardā' came and prepared a meal for Salmān. Salmān asked Abu Ad-Dardā' to eat with him, but Abu Ad-Dardā' said: "I am fasting." Salmān said: "I am not going to eat unless you eat." So, Abu Ad-Dardā' ate with him. When it was night, Abu Ad-Dardā' got up to offer (voluntary) night prayer, but Salmān told him to sleep and Abu Ad-Dardā' slept. After sometime, Abu Ad-Dardā' again got up to pray but Salmān told him to sleep. When it was the last hours of the night, Salmān told him to get up then, and both of them offered the prayer. Salmān told Abu Ad-Dardā': "Your Lord has a right on you, your own self has a right on you, and your family has a right on you, so give everyone their due rights." Abu Ad-Dardā' came to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and narrated the whole story. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Salmān has spoken the truth." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about the foremost deed that leads people to Paradise, and he replied: Fear of Allah and good character. Then, he was asked about the most things that lead people into Hellfire, and he said: The tongue and the private parts I used to pray with the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and his prayer was moderate in length and his sermon was moderate in length While we were digging the trench, a very hard boulder became exposed. The Companions went to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and told him about it, and he said: I will go (see it) Whenever a woman harms her husband in this world, his wife from the Houris of Paradise says: Do not harm him! May Allah destroy you! He is but a passing guest with you, and he will soon leave you to join us Spend (in charity), and do not keep account, lest Allah keep account of you, and do not hoard, lest Allah hoard from you All rights will be restored on the Day of Judgment, until even the hornless sheep will settle its score with the horned one If you knew what was in store for you with Allah, the Exalted, you would love to be increased in poverty and need If I were to order anyone to prostrate himself before another, I would have ordered the wife to prostrate herself before her husband ‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) divorced his wife while she was menstruating. So, ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) informed the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) about that, and he became furious at him You should pray as long as you have the energy to do so. If you feel tired, then lie down We were talking about the Farewell Hajj, when the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was with us. We did not know what the Farewell Hajj signified No Prophet was sent but that he warned his people against the one-eyed liar The wealth of a man will not diminish by charity; Allah augments the honor of a man who endures an oppression patiently; and he who opens a gate of begging, Allah opens a gate of poverty The example of a miser and a generous person is that of two men wearing two iron cloaks covering their breasts up to their collar bones Order him to speak, seek the shade, sit down, and complete his fast Whoever finds his property intact with a bankrupt person, he has more right to take it than anyone else If someone sells pollinated date palms, their fruits will be for the seller, unless the buyer stipulates the contrary Whoever unjustly usurps even one handspan of land, his neck will be encircled with it down the seven earths When the Imām says amen, you too say amen, for whoever says amen at the same time the angels say amen will have his previous sins forgiven Do (good) deeds according to your capacity, for by Allah, Allah never grows weary (of giving rewards) unless you grow weary (of doing good deeds), and the best deed in His sight is that which is done regularly By Him in Whose hand is my soul, if your state of mind remains the same as it is in my presence and you are always busy in Dhikr, the angels will shake hands with you in your beds and in your paths but, Hanzhalah, time and time The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade riders being met on their way, and a townsman selling for a man from the desert the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the Muzābanah sale: that is to sell fruits in one's garden, if it is palm trees, for dates by dry measure; and if it is a vineyard, to sell for raisins by dry measure; and if it is any crop to sell for a dry measure of its food. He forbade all such transactions The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited Shighār marriage The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade Munābadhah, which is when a man throws a garment to another thus selling it to him before the buyer unfolds it or examines it. He also forbade Mulāmasah, which is when a man touches a garment [thus buying it] without examining it The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sale of fruits until they are ripe. They said: What is meant by ripe? He said: When they become red. He added: What if Allah prevents the fruits, how could one of you consider his brother's money lawful for himself?
