Indeed, many women have come to the family of Muhammad complaining about their husbands. Those (men) are not the best among you Allāhumma inni a‘ūdhu bika min al-‘ajzi wal-kasal, wal-jubni wal-bukhl, wal-harami wa ‘adhāb al-qabr. Allāhumma āti nafsi taqwāha, wa zakkiha anta khayru man zakkāha, anta waliyyuha wa mawlāha. Allāhumma inni a‘ūdhu bika min ‘ilmin la yanfa‘, wa min qalbin la yakhsha‘, wa min nafsin la tashba‘, wa min da‘watin la yustajābu laha" (O Allah, I seek refuge with You from inability, indolence, cowardice, miserliness, decrepitude, and torment of the grave. O Allah, grant me the sense of piety and purify my soul as You are the Best to purify it. You are its Protector and its Guardian. O Allah, I seek refuge with You from knowledge that is not beneficial, from a heart that does not fear, from a soul that is not satisfied, and from a supplication that is not answered) There are three to whom Allah will not speak on the Day of Judgment, nor will He purify them, and they will incur a painful punishment A woman should not mourn for any dead person more than three days except her husband, for whom she should mourn four months and ten days The superiority of the scholar over the worshiper is like my superiority over the lowest among you Allāhumma qini ‘adhābaka yawma tajma‘u or tab‘athu ‘ibādak (O Allah, protect me from Your punishment on the Day You gather or resurrect Your servants) He used to serve his family. But when the time for prayer came, he would go out to the prayer Whoever acquires knowledge that should be pursued for the sake of Allah Almighty for the sole purpose of securing worldly gains shall not smell the ‘Arf of Paradise on the Day of Judgment Indeed, when Allah loves a slave, He calls Jibrīl (Gabriel) and says: I love so-and-so, so love him. So, Gabriel loves him If the person passing in front of someone praying knew the extent of the guilt he is incurring, he would prefer to stand for forty rather than pass in front him Perform ablution thoroughly, pass your fingers through each other, and sniff water well into your nose unless you are fasting Verily, Allah tortures those who torture people in this world No one should punish with fire except the Lord of fire These mosques are not appropriate for anything of this kind of urine or filth. They are only for the remembrance of Allah Almighty, prayer, and recitation of the Qur’an The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade making Istinjā’ (purification after answering the call of nature) with dung or bones None of you should clean himself with less than three stones Indeed, Allah is more merciful to His servants than this is to her child Do what you are capable of doing (regularly). By Allah, Allah never grows weary (of giving rewards) until you grow weary (of doing good deeds) It is part of the Sunnah that when the muezzin says in the Adhan of the Fajr prayer: Come to success, he then says: Prayer is better than sleep Recite the Qur’an, for on the Day of Judgment it will come as an intercessor for those who recite it The Hour will not be established until people boast about mosques Indeed, Allah Almighty has enjoined obligations, so do not violate them; He has set limits, so do not transgress them; He has forbidden things, so do not commit them; and He has kept silent about things out of mercy for you, not out of forgetfulness, so do not search for them Verily, the reward of deeds depends on intentions, and each person will be rewarded according to what he intended Abu ‘Abdur-Rahmān ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar ibn al-Khattāb (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say:||"Islam is built on five: testifying that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger, establishing prayer, giving Zakah, performing Hajj to the (Sacred) House, and fasting Ramadān The creation of each one of you is brought together in his mother's womb for forty days Whoever introduces something into this matter of ours that is not part of it will have it rejected Abu ‘Abdullah an-Nu‘mān ibn Bashīr (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say:||"Verily, the lawful is clear, and the unlawful is clear, and between them are doubtful matters many people do not know. Whoever avoids doubtful matters clears his liability regarding his religion and his honor, and whoever falls into doubtful matters will fall into the unlawful, just like the shepherd who grazes his animals in the vicinity of a prohibited pasture and is thus likely to graze therein. Verily, every king has a protected area, and the protected area of Allah is His prohibitions. Verily, in the body, there is a piece of flesh; if it is sound, the entire body will be sound, and if it is corrupt, the entire body will be corrupt; verily, that is the heart Abu Ruqayyah Tamīm ibn Aws ad-Dāri (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:||"Religion is sincerity." We said: "To whom?" He said: "To Allah, to His Book, to His Messenger, to the Muslim leaders and their common folk Avoid what I have forbidden you from, and do as much as you can of what I have ordered you Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said:||"Indeed, Allah is Good and accepts only what is good, and indeed Allah has ordered the believers with what He ordered the messengers; He Almighty says: {O messengers, eat from the lawful things and act righteously.} He Almighty also says: {O you who believe, eat of the good things We have provided for you.} Then, he mentioned a man who travels far away, with disheveled hair, covered with dust, and stretches his hands toward the sky (saying): 'O Lord, O Lord,' while his food is unlawful, his drink is unlawful, his clothing is unlawful, and he has been nourished by the unlawful. So, how could that be answered? Leave what you doubt for what you do not doubt Abu Hamzah Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him)—the servant of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)—reported that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:||"None of you believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself Indeed, Allah has enjoined Ihsān (kindness/excellence) in all things Hey boy, I shall teach you some words: Be mindful of Allah, and Allah will protect you. Be mindful of Allah, and you will find Him at your side. If you ask, ask Allah; if you seek help, seek help from Allah Abu Mas‘ūd ‘Uqbah ibn ‘Amr al-Ansāri al-Badri (may Allah be pleased with him) reported:||"Verily, some of what reached people from the speech of the early prophets: If you feel no shame, then do whatever you wish Abu ‘Amr—and it was said: Abu ‘Amrah—Sufyān ibn ‘Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported:||I said: O Messenger of Allah, tell me something about Islam regarding which I can ask none but you. He (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Say: I believe in Allah, then remain steadfast If I were to pray the obligatory prayers, fast Ramadan, adopt the lawful, as lawful and adopt the unlawful as unlawful Purity is half of faith, al-hamdulillāh (praise be to Allah) fills the Scale, and subhānallāh wa al-hamdulillāh (glory and praise be to Allah) fills what is between the heavens and the earth Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said:||"Charity is due upon every joint in a person's body each day the sun rises: to judge justly between two people is a charity. To help a man with his mount, lifting him onto it or hoisting up his belongings onto it, is a charity. Saying a good word is a charity. Every step that you take towards the prayer is a charity, and removing a harmful object from the road is a charity I advise you to fear Allah, and to listen and obey even if a slave is appointed as your leader. Whosoever among you shall live after me will see much discord. So hold fast to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs You have asked about something grave, but it is easy for whomever Allah makes it easy for There should be no harm or reciprocal harm Ibn ‘Abbās (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said:||"Were people to be given everything they claimed, some men would claim the properties and blood of other people. However, the onus of proof is on the plaintiff, and the oath is upon the one who denies the claim (defendant) Allah has written the good deeds and bad deeds, then clarified that Allah Almighty says: I will declare war against one who shows hostility to a close ally of Mine. And the most beloved thing with which My slave comes nearer to Me is what I have enjoined upon him None of you (truly) believes until his personal desire complies with what I have come with Every intoxicant is prohibited ‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said:||"There are four things; whoever has them is a hypocrite, and if one has a trait of them, he has a trait of hypocrisy until he gives it up: when he speaks, he lies; when he makes a promise, he breaks it; when he quarrels, he acts immorally; and when he makes a covenant, he proves treacherous If only you relied on Allah the way you should, He would provide for you as He provides for birds; they set out hungry in the morning and return satiated in the evening Righteousness is good character, and sin is what wavers in your heart, and you dislike that people know about it Keep your tongue moist with the remembrance of Allah Allah has pardoned for me the mistakes and forgetfulness of my Ummah, and what they were coerced into doing Be indifferent to worldly life; Allah will love you, and be indifferent to what people have; people will love you Breastfeeding produces the same interdiction that childbirth produces The son of Adam does not fill any vessel worse than his stomach. It is enough for the son of Adam to eat a few mouthfuls to straighten his back, but if he must (fill his stomach), then one-third for his food, one-third for his drink, and one-third for his breath Part of a person's excellence in Islam is his leaving what does not concern him Do you think that if I perform the obligatory payers, fast Ramadan, treat the lawful as lawful, and treat the unlawful as unlawful, I have been commanded to fight people until they testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, establish prayer, and pay Zakah Were people to be given everything they claimed, some men would claim the properties and blood of (other) people. However, the onus of proof is on the plaintiff and the oath is upon the one who denies the claim (defendant) Indeed, Allah and His Messenger have forbidden selling alcohol, dead animals, swine, and idols Verily, some of what reached people from the speech of the early prophets: If you feel no shame, then do whatever you wish Be in this world as if you are a stranger or a wayfarer Keep your tongue moist with the remembrance of Allah Righteousness is good morals, and sinfulness is what your heart is not at ease with, and you hate that people know about it Has Allah not provided for you that which you can give as charity? Every Tasbīh (saying: Glory be to Allah) is charity; every Takbīr (saying: Allah is the Greatest) is charity; every Tahmīd (saying: Praise be to Allah) is charity; and every Tahlīl (saying: There is no God but Allah) is charity. Enjoining good is charity, forbidding evil is charity, and even in fulfilling the sexual desire of one of you there is charity Avoid this filth, which Allah has prohibited. The one who commits it, let him conceal himself with Allah's concealment and repent to Allah, for, indeed, anyone who exposes his sin to us, we shall enforce the Book of Allah, the Exalted and Majestic, on him Give gifts to one another; you will love one another Had they entered it, they would never have come out of it until the Day of Judgment. Obedience is only in what is right Wash her three times, or five times, or more if you find that necessary. Wash her with water and Sidr (ground lote leaves), add camphor—or a pinch of camphor—to water in the last time, and let me know when you finish O Messenger of Allah, the properties (livestock) have perished and the roads have been cut off. So supplicate Allah to send us rain That she brought her small son, who had not yet eaten solid food, to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) seated him on his lap, and he (the child) urinated on his garment. So the Prophet (ﷺ) called for some water, sprinkled it over the affected area, and did not wash it The Prophet (ﷺ) said to me: "Recite to me It is not from righteousness to fast while traveling He used to command us, when we were on a journey or were travellers, not to remove our leather socks for three days and nights—except in the case of Janābah (major ritual impurity). In other cases such as defecation, urination, or sleep, it is sufficient to wipe over leather socks When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ''Sami‘allāhu liman hamidah (Allah hears whoever praises him),'' none of us would bend his back until the Prophet (ﷺ) had fallen in prostration. We would then fall in prostration right after him Feed the hungry, visit the sick, and arrange for the release of captives The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to start the prayer with Takbīr and then recite: {All praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds} A man asked the Prophet (ﷺ) while he was on the pulpit: What do you say about the night prayer? He (ﷺ) said: "Two by two Do not punish (anybody) with Allah's punishment When the Prophet (ﷺ) sent him to Yemen, he instructed him to take as Zakah on cattle; one Tabī‘ (a one-year-old male calf) or Tabī‘ah (a one-year-old female calf) for every thirty The expiation for a vow is the same as the expiation for an oath A people who make a woman their leader will never succeed Allah Almighty does not sleep, and it is not befitting of Him to sleep Indeed, I am the most God-fearing among you and the most knowledgeable of Allah We are the last of the nations, and the first to be brought to account We were with the Prophet (ﷺ) while we were young men close to maturity. We learned Imān (faith) before we learned the Qur’an; then we learned the Qur’an, and it increased us in faith There was no prophet among the prophets except that he was given miracles through which people believed in him Anas was asked: How was the recitation of the Prophet (ﷺ)? He replied: "It was with Madd (elongation) that she was asked about the recitation of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) Indeed, each of you is conversing privately with his Lord, so let not one of you harm another The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to teach us the Qur’an in every state, except when he was in a state of Janābah (major ritual impurity) Rather say: We hear and obey. Grant us Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the [final] destination there is a verse in your Book; had it been sent down to us, the community of Jews, we would have taken this day as a festival Indeed, Allah Almighty revealed: {Whoever does not judge according to what Allah has revealed, it is they who are the disbelievers} The keys of the unseen are five {Do you consider giving water to the pilgrims and maintaining the Sacred Mosque as equal to believing in Allah and the Last Day} [Surat at-Tawbah: 19] to the end of the verse The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to perform Ghusl (ritual bath) from Janābah (major ritual impurity) using one Sā‘ of water, and he would perform Wudū’ (ablution) with one Mudd I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) urinate, then perform ablution and wipe over his leather socks The Prophet (ﷺ), when he performed the Fajr prayer, would remain seated in his prayer place until the sun rose brightly Do not prevent the female servants of Allah from (going to) the mosques of Allah, but let them go out without perfume and unadorned When any of you enters the mosque, let him send peace upon the Prophet and say: Allāhumma iftahli abwāba rahmatik (O Allah, open for me the gates of Your mercy) Whoever performs our prayer, faces our Qiblah (direction of the Ka‘bah), and eats from our slaughtered animals—that is the Muslim who enjoys the protection (covenant) of Allah and His Messenger. So do not betray Allah by violating His protection I used to see the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) making Taslīm (salutation of peace ending the prayer) to his right and to his left, until I could see the whiteness of his cheek Indeed, a servant may pray a prayer, but nothing of it is recorded for him except a tenth of it, or a ninth, or an eighth, or a seventh, or a sixth, or a fifth, or a quarter, or a third, or a half Remind those of you who are dying of: La ilāha illallāh (There is no god but Allah) If you wish, I will give you, but there is no share in it for the rich, nor for the strong and capable of earning Complete the front row first, then the one following it. If there is any deficiency (in the rows), let it be in the last row When the Iqāmah (second call ) for prayer is pronounced, no prayer is to be offered but the obligatory one Leave it, for it is disgraceful The Prophet of Allah (ﷺ) wrote to Khosrow, Caesar, the Negus, and every other tyrant, calling them to Allah Almighty O Allah, I am only human. Any Muslim man whom I insulted, cursed, or flogged, make it a means of purification and mercy for him The family of Muhammad (ﷺ) never ate two meals in a day except that one of them was dates The family of Muhammad (ﷺ) never ate their fill of wheat bread for three consecutive nights from the time he arrived in Madīnah until he passed away The bedding of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was made of leather stuffed with palm fiber The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) did not leave behind at his death a single dirham or dinar, nor a male or female servant, nor anything else—except his white mule, his weapon, a piece of land—which he declared as charity O Bilāl, tell me of the most rewarding deed you have done in Islam The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) never fought any people until he had first invited them (to Islam) Allah Almighty said: There are three I will be hostile to them on the Day of Judgment Do not curse him, for by Allah, I know that he loves Allah and His Messenger Shall I not tell you of something better in degree than fasting, prayer, and charity? Shall I not tell you who among you are the best and who are the worst? He who does not thank people in fact does not thank Allah I have not been sent as an invoker of curses; rather, I have been sent as a mercy While I was walking, I heard a voice from the sky. I looked up, and there was the angel who had come to me at Hirā’ Whoever meets Allah without associating anything with Him, no sin will harm him along with it; and whoever dies while associating partners with Him, no good deed will benefit him along with it Fear Allah wherever you are; follow a bad deed with a good deed and it will erase it; and treat people with good morals The blood of a Muslim is inviolable except by one of three Give the prescribed shares (of inheritance) to those who are entitled to them, and whatever remains goes to the nearest male relative
