By the One in Whose Hand Muhammad's soul is, there is nobody of this Ummah (community), whether they be Jewish or Christian, who hears of me and then dies without believing in what I was sent with except that he will be among the people of Hellfire May the curse of Allah be upon the Jews and the Christians, for they took the graves of their prophets as places of worship O Allah, do not make my grave an idol that is worshiped The greater the tribulation, the greater the reward. When Allah loves people, He tests them. So whoever who is content, for him is content; and whoever is discontent, for him is discontent I am the One Who is most free from want of partners. So, he who does something for the sake of someone else beside Me, I discard him and his polytheism.' I stand acquitted before Allah that I should take anyone of you as an intimate friend, for Allah has taken me as an intimate friend just as he took Abraham as an intimate friend Verily, Allah gets jealous and the believer gets jealous. The jealousy of Allah is when the believer commits what He has made unlawful for him 'Whoever swears by other than Allah has disbelieved or associated partners with Allah.' The most burdensome prayers for the hypocrites are the ‘Ishā’ and Fajr prayers. If they were to know the virtue of them, they would come to them, even if they had to crawl Among the most wicked people are those who will be alive when the Hour comes, and those who take the graves as places of worship The thing that I fear most for you is minor Shirk (polytheism).' They said: 'What is minor Shirk, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'It is Riyā’ Don't they forbid what Allah allows, so you forbid it? Don't they allow what Allah forbids, so you allow it? I said: Yes. He said: That is how you worship them You will come to a people of the Scripture. When you reach them, invite them to testify that none is worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about the 'Nushrah' (counteracting magic by magic), he said: It is an act of the devil Do not exaggerate in praising me as the Christians exaggerated in praising the son of Mary, for I am only His slave. So, call me the slave of Allah and His Messenger The happiest of people to receive my intercession on the Day of Judgment is the one who says, 'there is no god but Allah' sincerely from his heart or his soul Whoever is prevented from doing something because of his belief in bad omens has thus committed polytheism. They said: What is the expiation of that? He said: It is to say: "O Allah, there is no good except Your good, nor omen except Your omen, and there is no god but You certainly admit him into Paradise, regardless of the deeds which he has done Whoever meets Allah without associating partners with Him will enter Paradise, and whoever meets Him while associating partners with Him will enter Hellfire Whoever dies while invoking besides Allah another equal will enter Hellfire Ruined are the extremists Allah's statement: {And said: Never leave your gods and never leave Wadd or Suwā‘ or Yaghūth and Ya‘ūq and Nasr} [Sūrat Nūh: 23]. Ibn ‘Abbās said: These are names of some pious men of the people of Nūh (Noah) Whoever gives respite to an insolvent person or remits part of his debt, Allah will shade him on the Day of Judgment in the shade of His Throne, on a day when there will be no shade but His shade If Allah wills good for someone, He makes him suffer from afflictions Leave me as I leave you. Verily, what destroyed those before you was their asking questions and their disagreement with their prophets Allah has written down the good deeds and the bad ones. Then, He explained that: He who intends a good deed and does not do it, Allah writes it down with Himself as a full good deed; and if he intends it and does it, Allah writes it down with Himself as ten good deeds to seven hundred times, or many times over. Yet, if he intends a bad deed and does not do it, Allah writes it down with Himself as a full good deed. But, if he intends it and does it, Allah writes it down as one bad deed Indeed, Allah does not look at your appearance and wealth, but He looks at your hearts and deeds.” Islam is to testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, to establish prayer, to pay Zakah, to fast Ramadan, and to perform Hajj to the House if you are able to find a way thereto Whoever introduces into this matter of ours (Islam) something that does not belong to it shall have it rejected O My slaves, I have made oppression forbidden for Myself, and I have made it forbidden amongst you, so do not oppress one another O boy, I shall teach you some words: Be mindful of Allah, and Allah will protect you. Be mindful of Allah, and you will find Him before you. If you ask, ask Allah; if you seek help, seek help from Allah Everyone of my Ummah will enter Paradise except those who refuse Whoever imitates a people is one of them I asked the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him): "Which sin is the gravest in the sight of Allah?" He said: "To set an equal to Allah while He created you It is unlawful for a Muslim to desert his fellow Muslim for more than three nights. As they meet, both of them turn their backs on each other. But the best of them is the one who starts by greeting the other Whoever causes harm will be harmed by Allah, and whoever causes hardship will be put in hardship by Allah You will see your Lord as you see this moon, you will not have any difficulty in seeing Him Verily, Allah gives respite to the oppressor, but when He seizes him, He does not release him Shall I not send you with the same instructions as the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) sent me with? Do not leave any statue without blotting it out or any raised grave without leveling it He is not one of us who seeks bad omens or has it done for him, or who practices soothsaying or has it done for him, or who practices sorcery or has it done for him Whoever goes to a soothsayer and asks him about something and believes him, his prayer will not be accepted for forty nights Whoever acquires a branch of the knowledge of astrology acquires a branch of magic, of which he acquires more as long as he continues to do so The gravest major sins are: associating partners with Allah in worship, feeling secure from Allah's plan, despairing of Allah's mercy, and losing hope in relief coming from Allah Faith has over seventy branches - or over sixty branches - the most excellent of which is the declaration that 'lā ilāha illa Allah (there is no god but Allah)', and the lowest of which is the removal of what is harmful from the way There should not remain any necklace of string or any other kind of necklace around the necks of camels without being cut Whoever is attached to something will be entrusted to that thing Whoever says 'lā ilāha illa Allah (there is no god but Allah)' and disbelieves in everything worshiped besides Allah, his property and blood becomes inviolable, and his reckoning will be with Allah Those who are merciful are shown mercy by the Most Merciful. Be merciful to the inhabitants of earth and the One in the heaven will be merciful to you Allah Almighty will say to the one receiving the least torment in Hellfire: 'If everything on earth was yours, would you ransom yourself with it?' He will say: 'Yes That is a word pertaining to the truth which a jinn snatches and whispers into his friend's ears as a hen does. Then, they mix it with more than a hundred lies There is no one who bears witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger, sincerely from his heart, except that Allah will make him forbidden to Hellfire Our Lord, Glorified and Exalted, descends every night to the lowest heaven when the last third of the night remains Do not sit on graves, and do not pray towards them Those are a people who, when a righteous slave or a righteous man from among them dies, they build a place of worship Islam is built on five Whoever of you sees something evil, let him change it with his hand; and if he is not able, then with his tongue; and if he is not able, then with his heart, and that is the weakest of faith He who does good in Islam will not be punished for what he did during jāhiliyyah, and he who commits evil in Islam will be punished for the previous and later deeds Do you think that if I perform the obligatory payers, fast Ramadan, treat the lawful as lawful, and treat the unlawful as unlawful, Purity is half of faith, al-hamdulillāh (praise be to Allah) fills the Scale, and subhān Allah wa al-hamdulillāh (glory and praise be to Allah) fills what is between the heavens and the earth Lo! Soon a Hadīth from me will be conveyed to a man, while he is reclining on his couch, and he says: ‘Between us and you is Allah’s Book Allah's right upon His servants is that they should worship Him and associate no partners with Him. And the right of the servants upon Allah is that He should not punish whoever associates no partners with Him Whoever dies while not associating anything with Allah will enter Paradise, and whoever dies while associating anything with Allah will enter Hellfire tell me something about Islam regarding which I can ask none but you. He (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Say: I believe in Allah, then remain steadfast Indeed, Allah will distinguish a man from my Ummah before all of creation on the Day of Judgment When Allah created Paradise and Hellfire, He sent Jibrīl (Gabriel) (peace be upon him) Allah decreed the destinies of the creatures fifty thousand years before He created the heavens and the earth I advise you to fear Allah and to hear and obey, even if an Abyssinian slave. You will see after me great discord. So, hold fast to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly guided Caliphs What stands between a man and polytheism and disbelief is the abandonment of the prayers The covenant between us and them is prayer; so, whoever abandons it has disbelieved Indeed, Allah Almighty forbids you to swear by your forefathers The first cases to be settled among people on the Day of Judgement will be the cases of blood (homicide) They are being tormented, but they are not tormented for a major sin. One of them would not save himself from being soiled with his urine, while the other used to walk about spreading malicious gossip A man asked the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him): "When is the Hour?" He said: "What have you prepared for it? Shall I tell you something about the Anti-Christ that no prophet has ever told his people? Verily, he is one-eyed and will bring with him something like Paradise and Hellfire. A man follows the religion (i.e. ways and manners) of his close friend. So, each of you should carefully consider whom he takes as his intimate friend Hasten to deeds before being overtaken by tribulations that are like patches of the darkest night; There is no god but Allah. Woe to the Arabs from an impending evil. Today, an opening has been made in the wall of Gog and Magog, like this, The believer, man or woman, will continue to be tested concerning his or her self, children, and property until they meet Allah without any sins in their record Allah's statement: {So do not attribute to Allah equals while you know} [Sūrat al-Baqarah: 22]. Ibn ‘Abbās commented: Equals are polytheism. It is subtler than the crawling of a small black ant on a black stone in the darkness of the night Do not say: What Allah wills and what so-and-so wills; rather say: What Allah wills then what so-and-so wills To swear by Allah even if I were telling a lie is dearer to me than to swear by other than Him even if I were telling the truth Verily, you will follow those before you, span by span and cubit by cubit Whoever calls to guidance shall receive a reward similar to the rewards obtained by those who followed him without diminishing anything from their rewards What is the reason for those people's fear? They willingly accept what is precise thereof, and react ruinously when it comes to what is broadly indicative Tiyarah (belief in evil omens) is Shirk (polytheism). Tiyarah is Shirk. Tiyarah is Shirk - three times." Every one of us experiences something of that, but Allah Almighty dispels it with reliance on Him We said: You are our master. He said: "The Master is Allah." We said: And the best of us in superiority and the greatest among us in bounty. He said: "Say what you have to say, or part of what you have to say, but do not let the devil deviate you (in praising me) Raise your head, say and you will be heard, ask and you will be given, intercede and your intercession will be fulfilled O people, beware of immoderation in religion, for those before you were doomed because of immoderation in religion There is no contagion, nor is there any evil omen in birds, nor is there any evil omen in the owl, nor is there any evil omen in Safar, and run away from the leper as you would run away from the lion No one can undo the magic except a magician The seven heavens and the seven earths in the palm of the Most Merciful are no more than a mustard seed in the hand of one of you The Kursi (footstool) in comparison to the Throne is only like an iron ring thrown in a desert on earth There is no transitive disease and no evil omen, and I like a good omen." It was said: What is a good omen? He said: "A good word The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said about the Ansār (Supporters): "No one loves them except a believer, and no one hates them except a hypocrite. Allah loves whoever loves them and hates whoever hates them Pursue the right course and be as close to it as possible, and keep in mind that none of you will be saved by his deeds." They said: O Messenger of Allah, not even you? He said: "Not even me unless Allah encompasses me with mercy and favor from Him No prophet had been sent before me by Allah except that he had disciples and companions from his nation who adhered to his way and followed his command I was granted five that none before me was granted Shall I inform you about the people of Paradise? Every weak person who is looked down upon, if he were to make an oath in the name of Allah, He would fulfill it. Shall I inform you about the people of Hellfire? Every cruel, greedy, and arrogant person In Paradise, there are one hundred degrees that Allah prepared for those who make Jihad in the cause of Allah. The distance between each two degrees is like the distance between the heaven and earth I am as My slave thinks of Me and I am with him when he remembers Me He will succeed if he proves to be truthful The best day upon which the sun has risen is Friday A huge fat man will come on the Day of Judgment weighing less than a mosquito wing in the sight of Allah No slave covers another slave in this world except that Allah would cover him on the Day of Judgment So, for what should we give you the pledge of allegiance? He said: "To worship Allah and not associate any partners with Him; the five prayers; to obey - and he said in a low tone - and to not ask people for anything He who is inflicted with poverty and seeks relief from people, he will not be relieved; whereas he who seeks relief from Allah, he will be given sustenance from Allah sooner or later When a Muslim is questioned in the grave, he testifies that no deity is worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah I have been commanded to fight people until they testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, establish prayer, and pay Zakah Allah has pardoned for my sake the mistakes and forgetfulness of my Ummah, and what they were coerced to do The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) died when my house was void of any edible thing except for a small quantity of barley I had on a shelf and from which I kept eating it for a long time. Then when I measured what was left of it, it soon finished A believer is brought close to his Almighty Lord on the Day of Judgment, and He bestows His Kanaf (concealment) on him and makes him confess his sins Allah divided mercy into one hundred parts. He retained with Him ninety-nine parts and sent down to earth one part. Because of this one part, creatures show mercy towards each other, so much so that an animal lifts its hoof away from its youngster lest it should hurt it You have asked me about a great matter, which is, indeed, easy for whomever Allah makes it easy O people, indeed, Allah is good and does not accept except what is good. Indeed, Allah has commanded the believers with what he commanded the messengers Do not kill him, for if you kill him, he will be in the same position as yours before you kill him, and you will be in the same position as his before saying the word that he said O Usāmah, you killed him after he had said "there is no god but Allah"? Man's feet will not move from their place on the Day of Judgment until he is asked about his life, in what he let it perish; about his knowledge, what he did with it; about his money, from where he earned it and on what he spent it on; and about his body, and how he wore it out Verily, I shall give this banner to a man who loves Allah and His Messenger, and Allah will grant victory at his hands." When Allah created the creation, He wrote in a book, which is with Him over the Throne: Verily, My mercy predominates over My anger The believers, in their mutual love, compassion, and sympathy, are like a single body; if one of its organs suffers, the whole body will respond with sleeplessness and fever Anyone pledges allegiance to a ruler, giving him the grasp of his hand and sincerity of his heart, he should obey him to the best of his capacity. If another man comes forward disputing his authority, then you should behead the latter He is not one of us who slaps the cheeks, splits the collars, and calls out with the calls of Jāhiliyyah (pre-Islamic era of ignorance) Among them are those whom the fire will reach up to their ankles, others up to their knees, others up to their waists, and others up to their collarbones O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I shall forgive you Every person will be resurrected in the same state he died in The strong believer is better and dearer to Allah than the weak believer, and there is good in both Allah, Glorified and Exalted, will say on the Day of Judgment: O son of Adam, I was ill, but you did not visit Me We were talking about the Farewell Hajj, when the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was with us. We did not know what the Farewell Hajj signified No Prophet was sent but that he warned his people against the one-eyed liar The Hadīth on Intercession By the One in Whose Hand my soul is, you will follow the ways of those before you A man came to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and talked to him about some matter and then said: It is as Allah wills and you will. Thereupon, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you make me an equal to Allah? Say: 'It is as Allah alone wills.' the people who will receive the severest punishment on the Day of Judgment will be those who try to emulate Allah'sAllah's creation Whenever the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) appointed a man to lead an army or a military detachment, he would advise him to fear Allah and treat well those Muslims who are with him If you spend the like of Uhud in gold, Allah will not accept it from you until you believe in predestination, and know that what has befallen you would not have missed you and what has missed you would not have befallen you. If you die on other than this, you will be among the people of Hellfire The first thing Allah created was the Pen. He commanded it to write. It said: My Lord, what shall I write? He said: Write down what has been ordained for all things until the establishment of the Hour Allah, the Exalted, said: Glory is My Izār and Pride is My Cloak. I will punish whoever contends with Me over either of them A person who attributes his fatherhood to anyone other than his real father, knowing that he is not his father, commits an act of disbelief. And he who makes a claim of anything which in fact does not belong to him, is none of us, and he should make his abode in Hell. And he who labels anyone as disbeliever or calls him the enemy of Allah while he is in fact not so, his charge will revert to him The son of Adam tells a lie against Me and he has no right to do so; and he insults Me and has no right to do so Allah has appointed an angel in charge of the womb, and the angel says: O Lord, (it is) a sperm drop! O Lord, (it is now ) a clot! O Lord, (it is now) a piece of flesh. Then, when Allah wills to complete its creation, the angel asks: O Lord, (will it be) a male or female? Wretched (an evil doer) or blessed (doer of good)? How much will his provisions be? How long will he live? All that is written while the fetus is still in his mother's womb The Kursi is the resting place of the feet, and the size of the Throne cannot be estimated A Jew came to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Muhammad, Allah holds the heavens on one Finger, the earths on one Finger, the mountains on one Finger, the trees on one Finger, and the creatures on one Finger, then He says: I am the King Whoever shows hostility to a pious worshipper of Mine, I declare war against him. My slave does not draw near to Me with anything dearer to Me than what I have made obligatory for him There are two things in people that are signs of disbelief: defaming lineages and wailing over the dead Take it off, for it will only increase your weakness. If you die with it on, you will never succeed Do you know who the bankrupt is? No owner of gold or silver who does not pay what is due on it except that on the Day of Judgment they will be made for him sheets of fire There is none among you except that Allah will speak to him, with no interpreter between Him and him Whoever hangs an amulet has committed Shirk (polytheism) O Ruwayfi‘, you may live a long life after me; so, inform people that anyone who ties his beard, wears a string around his neck, or cleanse himself with animal dung or with bone, indeed Muhammad has nothing to do with him Angels were created from light, Jinn were created from a smokeless flame of fire, and Adam was created from what was described to you My Lord has promised me that seventy thousand of my Ummah will enter Paradise without being brought to account or punished. With every thousand there will be (another) seventy thousand, and three handfuls of my Lord The Rahim (kinship ties) is hanging on to the Hujzah of the Most Merciful; He maintains ties with whoever maintains it (the Rahim) and severs ties with whoever severs it Would you not be content if I maintain ties with whoever maintains you, and sever ties with whoever severs you? The Sirāt will be placed over the center of Hell, covered with thorns similar to the thorns of the Sa‘dān. Then, people will pass over it; some will be safe without any harm, some will be safe after receiving some scratches, and some will fall down into Hell Our Lord will reveal His Shin, and then all believers, men and women, will prostrate themselves before Him, but there will remain those who used to prostrate in the worldly life for showing off and gaining good reputation. Such people will try to prostrate (in that situation) but their backs will be as stiff as if it is one bone When the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) entered the mosque, he would say: "a‘ūdhu billāhi al-‘azhīm wa biwajhihi al-karīm wa sultānihi al-qadīm min ash-shaytān ar-rajīm" (I seek refuge in Allah, the Majestic, and in His noble Countenance, and in His eternal dominion, from the accursed devil) Are you astonished at the jealousy of Sa‘d? I swear by Allah, I am more jealous than him, and Allah is more jealous than me. Because of His jealousy, Allah has prohibited immorality, the apparent and the hidden thereof No one, or nothing, is more patient about the offensive statements he hears than Allah. Verily, they ascribe a son to Him, yet He still grants them good health and sustenance The Hadīth of Abu Sa‘īd depicts some of the scenes of the Day of Judgment, when the believers see Allah, Blessed and Exalted; the "Sirāt" (bridge over Hell), taking anyone in whose heart there is an atom weight of faith out of the Fire, and the intercession The Hellfire will keep on saying: Are there anymore (to come), until the Lord of Honor puts His Foot therein. It will then say: I had enough! I had enough! [I swear] by Your Honor, and its sides will come together and it will retreat Allah Almighty will say to the dwellers of Paradise: 'O people of Paradise!' They will reply: 'O our Lord, we present ourselves and are at Your pleasure.' He will say: ‘Are you contented?’ They will say: 'How could we not be contented, O Lord, when You have given us what You have not given to any of Your creation?' There is none among you except that his seat in Paradise or in Hell is decreed No man accuses another man of defiant disobedience or accuses him of disbelief except that it rebounds on him if his companion is not like that Whoever incites a woman against her husband or a slave against his master is not one of us The Jews and Christians do not dye (their grey hair), so do the opposite of what they do The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) did not believe in evil omens Those who make these images will be tortured on the Day of Resurrection. It will be said to them: Bring to life what you have created Angels do not enter a house with a dog or an image inside it Angels do not accompany a group of travelers who have a dog or a bell with them Do not swear by Tawāghi (idols) nor by your fathers Whoever swears by the Amānah (trust) is not one of us Take these sandals of mine, and anyone you meet outside this orchard testifying with full certainty that there is none worthy of worship but Allah, give him glad tidings that he will enter Paradise A Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hand Muslims are safe, and a Muhājir (emigrant) is the one who abandons what Allah has forbidden I know the last of the inhabitants of Hell to come out of it, and the last of the inhabitants of Paradise to enter it. He is a man who will emerge from Hellfire crawling, and Allah, the Almighty, will say to him: Go and enter Paradise. When he arrives, it will appear to him that it is full. He will say: O Lord, I have found it full Do you find any difficulty in seeing the sun at noon when there are no clouds? They said: No. He again said: Do you find any difficulty in seeing the moon during the fourteenth night when there are no clouds? Allah has ninety-nine names – one hundred minus one – and no one memorizes them but that they will enter Paradise. He is One, and He loves odd numbers There are angels at the entrances of Madīnah, so neither the plague nor the Antichrist shall enter it Whoever says upon hearing the call: O Allah, Lord of this perfect call and the prayer that is to be established, grant Muhammad Al-Wasīlah and Al-Fadīlah and resurrect him to the Praiseworthy Station that You have promised him, he will be granted my intercession on the Day of Judgment All of the earth is a mosque (prayer place) except the graveyard and the bathroom When one of you stands to pray, he is privately conversing with his Lord, or his Lord is between him and the prayer direction. So let no one of you spit in the direction of prayer, but only to his left or under his feet I have not been ordered to build lofty mosques Do not revile my Companions, for if anyone of you spends gold equal to Mount ’Uhud (in Allah's cause), it will not be equal to a Mudd or even half a Mudd spent by one of them Those who took part in Badr and Al-Hudaybiyah will not enter Hellfire The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said to Abu Bakr and ‘Umar: "These two are the masters of the elderly people of Paradise, from the first ones and the last ones, except the prophets and the messengers Al-Hasan and Al-Husayn are the masters of the youth of Paradise One day the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) brought Al-Hasan and took him up the pulpit with him and said: This son of mine is a master and hopefully Allah will reconcile by means of him two groups of Muslims Anyone who loves Al-Hasan and Al-Husayn has indeed loved me, and anyone who hates them has indeed hated me When Allah wills good for a slave, He uses him before he dies They spoke the truth. They are tormented, and their torment can be heard by all animals This Ummah will be tested in their graves. Were it not that you would not bury one another, I would supplicate Allah to make you hear what I hear of the torment of the grave When one of you dies, his seat (in the Hereafter) is shown to him in the morning and evening. If he is one of the people of Paradise, (he is shown his seat) in Paradise, and if he is one of the people of Hellfire, (he is shown his seat) in Hellfire Once, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) stood at the top of one of the forts of Madīnah looking down and said: Do you see what I see? Verily, I see the trials that occur in the midst of your houses as plenty as the raindrops that fall (during heavy rain) The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "My advent and the Hour are like these," and he pointed with his two fingers Indeed, this matter will reach everywhere the night and day have reached. Allah will not leave a dwelling in a city or a desert except that He will make this religion enter therein By Him in Whose hand is my soul, a time would come upon the people when the killer would not know why he killed and the victim would not know why he was killed I am not responsible for any Muslim who stays among the polytheists I will certainly expel the Jews and the Christians from the Arabian Peninsula until only Muslims are left in it Verily, Allah has ninety-nine names, one-hundred minus one. Whoever memorizes them all will enter Paradise for he did not ever say: My Lord, forgive my sins on the Day of Judgment Do you know what your Lord has said?" They replied: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "He has said: 'Some of My servants have entered the morning as believers in Me and some as disbelievers We find within ourselves thoughts that one of us would find too grave to talk about." He said: "Have you experienced that?" They said: 'Yes'. He said: "That is the clear faith praise be to Allah Who reduced his plotting to whispering Satan comes to one of you and says, 'Who created such and such, and who created such and such', until he says: 'Who created your Lord?' If a person experiences this, he should seek refuge with Allah and desist from that Allah does not wrong a believer in a good deed; he will be given on account of it in this world and will be rewarded for it in the Hereafter You have embraced Islam along with your past good deeds The hypocrite is like a ewe which goes to and fro between two flocks: going once to one and another time to the other Verily, faith wears out within one of you as a shirt becomes worn out; so, ask Allah to renew faith in your hearts Among the portents of the Hour is that knowledge will be taken away, ignorance will prevail, adultery will spread, drinking alcohol will be common, and men will decrease in number while women will increase so much that for fifty women there will only be one man to look after them The Hour will not be established until a man would pass by the grave of another man and say: 'I wish I were in his place.' The Hour will not come until you fight the Jews: until the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say: O Muslim, this is a Jew behind me; kill him By the One in Whose Hand my soul is, the son of Mary will soon descend among you as a just judge. He will break the cross, kill the pig, and abolish Jizyah (protection tax imposed on non-Muslims living under Muslim rule), and the wealth will be abundant to such an extent that no one will accept it The Hour will not come until the sun rises from the west, and when it rises and people see it, they will all believe The Hour will not be established until the time is shortened Allah will grab the earth and roll up the heavens in His right Hand, then, He will say: 'I am the King. Where are the kings of the earth?' My Cistern takes a month's journey to cross it. Its water is whiter than milk, its smell is nicer than musk, I will be at the Cistern so that I see who among you will come to me. But some people will be barred from reaching me. Thereupon, I will say: 'O Lord, they belong to me and my Ummah By the One in Whose Hand the soul of Muhammad is, its vessels will outnumber the stars in the sky and its planets Death will be brought forward in the shape of a black and white ram Your fire is a one-seventieth part of Hellfire The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) related to us, and he is the truthful and the trusted one; he said: "The creation of each one of you is brought together in his mother's womb for forty days and forty nights Everything is decreed, even incapacity and capacity, or capacity and incapacity If Allah decreed that someone should die in a certain land, He makes for him a reason to go there I am Dimām ibn Tha‘labah, from the brothers of Banu Sa‘d ibn Bakr The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned something and said: "That will be at the time when knowledge disappears Neither believe nor disbelieve the People of the Book but say: {We believe in Allah and what has been sent down to us The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) received divine revelation at the age of forty The Jews incurred Allah's wrath, and the Christians went astray The extent to which they betrayed you, disobeyed you, and lied to you will be measured against how much you punish them Is He Who is able to make them walk on their feet not able enough to make them walk upon their faces on the Day of Resurrection? Say 'there is no god but Allah', and I will testify for you by it on the Day of Judgment What you say and invite people to is indeed good. If only you could tell us whether there is an expiation for what we did Go and say to him: You are not from the people of Hellfire but from the people of Paradise {Then, on that Day, you will definitely be questioned about your worldly pleasures.} There will be in the latter time of my Ummah people who will narrate what neither you nor your fathers have heard. Beware of them Write down; for by the One in Whose Hand my soul is, nothing comes out of it except the truth When you hear the Muezzin, say what he says and then invoke Allah's blessings upon me That is Satan who is known as Khinzab. If you perceive his effect, seek refuge with Allah from him and spit three times to your left He finds the taste of Imān who is pleased with Allah as Lord, with Islam as religion, and with Muhammad as Messenger “There are four (traits); whoever has them is a sheer hypocrite, and whoever has one trait of them has one of the traits of hypocrisy until he gives it up: whenever he speaks, he tells a lie; whenever he makes a covenant, he proves treacherous; whenever he makes a promise, he breaks it; and whenever he is in a dispute, he behaves in a shameless immoral manner Shall I not inform you about these three persons? One of them sought refuge with Allah, so Allah gave him refuge. The second one felt shy, so Allah was shy towards him. And the last one turned away, so Allah turned away from him. A man will go to sleep and honesty will be taken out of his heart and only a trace of it will remain, like the trace of a dark spot. And a man will go to sleep again and the honesty will decrease further still, so its trace will resemble that of a blister. He came to the Black Stone and kissed it and said: Verily, I know that you are a stone that can neither benefit nor harm. Had I not seen the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) kissing you, I would not have kissed you. I love you for Allah's sake. He said: May the One you love me for His sake love you Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day let him honor his guest with his due reward. They said: O Messenger of Allah, what is his due reward? He said: "A day and a night (of excellent accommodation) and hospitality is for three days, and whatever is beyond that is charity offered to him." Are you then asking me about the origins of the Arabs? The best of them in the pre-Islamic era are the best of them in Islam, provided that they acquire religious knowledge The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade throwing stones and said: It does not kill the quarry or harm the enemy. Instead, it can gouge out an eye or break a tooth One day, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) stood up to deliver a sermon at a watering place known as Khumm located between Makkah and Madīnah. He praised Allah, extolled Him, and gave us an admonition and reminder. By the One in whose Hand my soul is, this world will not come to an end until a man passes by a grave, rolls over it and says: I wish I were in the place of the dweller of this grave, not due to religious reasons but due to (worldly) affliction The Hour will not occur until the Euphrates recedes uncovering a mountain of gold over which people will fight. Ninety-nine out of every hundred will get killed People will desert Madīnah, in spite of its being in its best condition, and it will only be inhabited by wild beasts and birds A time will come when a man will go about with charity from his gold and not find anyone to receive it. One man will be seen being followed by forty women dependent upon him on account of the scarcity of men and the high number of women Righteous people will go (die) one after another. Meanwhile, the dregs of people, like waste barley or dates, will remain. Allah will not raise them in esteem I saw in my dream that I was using a tooth-stick when two men came to me, one of them older than the other. I gave the tooth-stick to the younger one, but I was told to give it to the older one first, so I did I never felt jealous of any of the Prophet's wives more than I felt jealous of Khadījah (may Allah be pleased with her). I never saw her, but he used to mention her a lot If you wish, be patient and you will enter Paradise, or, if you wish, I will supplicate to Allah to cure you The supplication of a Muslim for a fellow Muslim in his absence is answered. At his head, there is an entrusted angel. Whenever one invokes good for his brother, the entrusted angel says: Amen, and likewise to you I see what you do not see. Heaven is groaning and it has a right to be groaning: there is no space the width of four fingers in it but an angel placing his forehead in prostration to Allah, the Exalted Whoever suppresses his rage while being able to vent it, Allah, Glorified and Exalted, will call him before the entire creation on the Day of Judgment so that he can choose whomever of the houris he wishes to have Allah, the Almighty, will say on the Day of Judgment: Where are those who loved each other for My glory? Today, I will shelter them under My shade the day when there is no shade but My shade A rabbi came to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Muhammad, we learn that Allah will put the heavens on one finger and the earths on one finger Allah will fold the heavens on the Day of Judgment and then take them in His right hand and say: I am the King. Where are the mighty ones? Where are the arrogant ones? Then, He will fold the seven earths and take them in His left (hand) and say: I am the King. Where are the mighty ones? Where are the arrogant ones? The Messenger (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) gave glad tidings to Khadījah (may Allah be pleased with her) of a house in Paradise built of Qasab wherein there will be neither any noise nor any fatigue Whosoever introduces a good practice in Islam, there is for him its reward and the reward of those who act upon it after him without anything being diminished from their rewards. And whosoever introduces an evil practice in Islam will shoulder its sin and the sins of all those who will act upon it, without diminishing in any way their burden Allah, the Almighty, said: Those who love one another for the sake of My glory will have pulpits of light for which the prophets and martyrs will envy them if the deceased was righteous, it (the corpse) would say: Send me forward, send me forward. But if he was not righteous, it would say: Woe to it! Where are you taking it? When Allah created Adam (peace be upon him), He said to him: Go and greet those – a group of angels who were sitting – and listen to what they are going to say in response to your greeting as that will be your greeting and the greeting of your offspring Intercede and you will be rewarded, and Allah will decide what He loves on the tongue of His Prophet Allah, forgive my people for they do not know If Allah wills to show mercy to a people, He takes the soul of their prophet before them, thus making him a forerunner and an intercessor for them May Allah have mercy upon Mūsa! He was hurt more than this but remained patient Zakariyya (Zechariah) (peace be upon him) was a carpenter Order Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer Here is Jibrīl giving you greetings of peace I am more entitled to that (action) than you. Pardon My slave When the verse of charity was revealed, we would carry loads on our backs. A man came and gave so much in charity, so they said: He is showing off. Another man came and gave a Sā‘ in charity, so they said: Allah is no need for the Sā‘ of that one. Then it was revealed: {Those who criticize the contributors among the believers concerning [their] charities and [criticize] the ones who find nothing [to spend] except their effort} On the Day of Judgment, the sun will be drawn near people until it becomes a mile away from them The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) visited me and drank from the mouth of a hanging waterskin while he was standing. So, I got up and cut off its mouth An army will invade the Ka‘bah and when it reaches a desert, all of them will be swallowed up by the earth Jibrīl came to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and said: How do you rate the people who participated in the battle of Badr among you? He said: They are from the best of Muslims Between the two blows (of the Trumpet), there will be (an interval of) forty. The people said: O Abu Hurayrah, do you mean forty days? He said: I cannot say anything The places that are dearest to Allah are the mosques, and the places that are most hateful to Allah are the markets The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) appointed a man in charge of an army unit who led them in prayer; he always concluded his recitation with Sūrat al-Ikhlās A mount was brought to ‘Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) to ride on, and when he put his foot in the stirrup, he said: In the name of Allah He who has wronged his brother, concerning his honor or anything else, let him ask for his pardon today before there comes a time when there will be neither a dinar nor a dirham People will be gathered on the Day of Resurrection barefooted, naked, and uncircumcised Allah, Glorified and Exalted, laughs at two men, one of them kills the other, yet both enter Paradise. This one fights in the cause of Allah, so he gets killed. Then Allah accepts the repentance of the killer, so he becomes a Muslim and dies as a martyr People will rise from their graves and stand before the Lord of the Worlds. Some of them will get submerged in their perspiration up to the middle of their ears Whenever the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) ate food, he would lick his three fingers If you get news of the outbreak of a plague in a land, do not enter it, and if it breaks out in a land in which you are, do not leave it As Jibrīl (peace be upon him) was sitting with the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) he heard a creak from above Indeed you possess two traits that Allah loves: Prudence and deliberation All rights will be restored on the Day of Judgment, until even the hornless sheep will settle its score with the horned one ‘Umar ibn al-Khattāb (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote: Kill every sorcerer and sorceress While a man was reciting Sūrat al-Kahf, with his horse tied with two ropes beside him O people, do not trouble yourselves too much. He Whom you are calling is not deaf or absent. Verily, He is with you, He is All-Hearing and Ever Near You have been endowed with one of the melodious voices of the family of Dawūd When Allah wants to punish a people, the punishment befalls whoever is among them, then they will be resurrected according to their deeds O Allah, I ask You to help me do good deeds and abstain from evil ones, to grant me the love of the poor and needy, and to forgive me and have mercy on me. And if it is Your Will that you put some people to trial (regarding their faith), then make me die without being put to that trial. I ask You to grant me Your Love, the love of those who love You, and the love of deeds that bring me closer to Your Love When Allah fashioned Adam in Paradise, He left him as long as He desired to leave him. Satan started to go round Adam looking at him. Once he saw that Adam had a hollow body, he realized that he was a weak creature The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessing be upon him) mentioned the Anti-Christ one morning, (sometimes describing him) to be insignificant and at other times important, till we thought that he might be amidst a cluster of date-palms If Allah, the Almighty, loves a slave, He calls out to Jibrīl and says: Verily, Allah, the Almighty, loves so-and-so; so love him. So, Jibrīl loves him and announces to the inhabitants of the heavens: Verily, Allah loves so- and-so; so love him; and the inhabitants of the heavens (the angels), thus, love him, and then he is granted acceptance on earth If the slave draws closer to Me by a hand-span, I shall draw closer to him by a cubit; and if he draws closer to Me by a cubit, I shall draw closer to him by the span of two outstretched arms. If he comes to Me walking, I shall come to him running When we enter upon our rulers, we say to them things contrary to what we say when we leave them. He said: We used to consider this hypocrisy during the Prophet's lifetime Anyone loves to meet Allah, Allah loves to meet him; and anyone dislikes to meet Allah, Allah dislikes to meet him Oxus, Jaxartes, Euphrates, and the Nile are all from the rivers of Paradise Indeed, Allah is the One who fixes prices, the Withholder, the Extender, and the Provider. Indeed, I wish to meet Allah while none of you will have any claim against me for an injustice regarding blood or property Verily, Allah, Glorified and Exalted, is characterized by modesty and concealment, and He loves modesty and concealment. Therefore, when any of you bathes, let him conceal himself Allah said: If My slave draws close to Me by a hand-span, I shall draw close to him by a cubit, and if he draws close to Me by a cubit, I shall draw close to him by an outstretched arm span, and if he draws close to Me by an outstretched arm span, I shall hasten towards him Khawlah came to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) complaining about her husband, but I could not hear what she was saying Allah creates every maker and what he makes Allah is the Physician. You are only a kind man. The one who heals it is the One who created it A people who recite the Qur’an beautifully will emerge from the progeny of this (man), but it will not go beyond their throats. They will go out of the religion just as the arrow goes out of the game Paradise and Hell argued with one another. Hell said: I have been assigned the arrogant and the tyrants. Paradise said: Why is it that only the weak, the insignificant, and the simple enter me? Adam and Mūsa debated with each other. Mūsa said to Adam: "O Adam, you are our father. You did us harm and caused us to get out of Paradise." Adam said to him: "O Mūsa, Allah favored you with His talk (talked to you directly) and He wrote (the Torah) for you with His Own Hand. Do you blame me for an action which Allah had decreed on me forty years before He created me?" So Adam confuted Mūsa, Adam confuted Mūsa People – or he said slaves - will be gathered on the Day of Judgment naked and uncircumcised Verily, the lowest place of any of you in Paradise will be that Allah will tell him to express his wish. He will wish and wish again. Allah will then ask him: Have you expressed your wish? He will answer: Yes, I have. Allah will say: You will have what you have wished for and the like thereof along with it The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) ordered to kill geckos, saying: They used to blow into [the fire] on Ibrahīm Among the matters in respect of which we gave the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) the pledge not to disobey him in any goodness was that we should not scratch our faces, bewail, tear our clothes up, or dishevel our hair (in grief) Verily, Allah is more merciful to His slaves than this woman is to her child Once a dog was moving around a well, and it was about to die from thirst. When a prostitute from Children of Israel saw it, she removed her shoe, filled it with water, and gave it to the dog to drink. She was forgiven for that When a disbeliever does a good deed, he is rewarded for it in this world. As to the believer, Allah, the Almighty, saves his good deeds to reward him in the Hereafter and provides him with sustenance in this life as a reward for his obedience The Muezzins will have the longest necks of all the people On the Night of Isrā', two cups were brought to the Prophet, (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) Adam denied, so his offspring denied; Adam forgot, so his offspring forgot; and Adam sinned, so his offspring sinned Faith is Yamān and wisdom is Yamāniyyah O Abu ‘Ā’ishah, there are three things, whoever speaks of one of them has fabricated a tremendous lie against Allah How can I feel pleasure when the one (angel) in charge of the Trumpet is holding it to his lips and his forehead is leaning forward, waiting to be given permission to blow? I was allowed to speak of an angel from the angels of Allah who carry the Throne: (the distance) between his earlobe and shoulder covers a journey of seven hundred years Should I not feel shy of a man whom the angels feel shy of? Allah has angels traveling around on earth conveying to me the greetings of my Ummah This is the one at whose death the Throne shook; the gates of heaven were opened for him; and seventy thousand angles attended his funeral. He was squeezed once then was released We were with the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) collecting the Qur'an from parchments. The Messenger said: How blessed the Levant is! When the edge of the sun rises, avoid prayer until it becomes prominent; and if the edge of the sun disappears, avoid prayer until it sets. And do not offer your prayer at the time of sunrise or sunset, for it rises between two horns of a devil – or the devil A caller from the Jinn came to me, and I went along with him and recited the Qur’an to them Satan places his throne upon water; he then sends his troops; the nearer to him in rank are those who are most skillful in creating mischief Verily, what I fear for you is a man who recites the Qur’an until its brightness appears on him and he becomes a support of Islam. (This continues) until this man changes his state to what Allah wills. He detaches himself from it and throws it behind his back. Then he starts attacking his neighbor with the sword, accusing him of polytheism A man said: "O Messenger of Allah, was Adam a prophet?" He said: 'Yes.' The man said: "How long was the period between him (Adam) and Nūh?" He replied: "Ten centuries." The man asked again: "How long was the period between Nooh and Ibrahīm?" He said: "Ten centuries." The man said: "O Messenger of Allah, how many messengers were there?" He said: "Three hundred and fifteen." Allah selected Kinānah from the children of Isma‘īl, Quraysh from Kinānah, the children of Hāshim from Quraysh, and me from the children of Hāshim. So I am the master of the children of Adam, without pride. And I am the first for which the earth will be split open, and I am the first intercessor, and the first to be granted intercession I have five names. I am Muhammad. I am Ahmad. I am Al-Māhi (the effacer), by whom Allah effaces disbelief. I am Al-Hāshir (the gatherer), at whose feet people will be gathered. I am Al-‘Āqib (the last) The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) called himself with many names, and we memorized some of them. He said: I am Muhammad, Ahmad, Al-Muqaffi, Al-Hāshir, and the Prophet of Mercy No child is born but the devil touches him when he is born, whereupon he starts crying loudly because of having been touched by the devil, except for Maryam and her son Al-Khidr was named so because he sat over a barren white land, it turned green with plantation after his sitting over it The honorable son of the honorable son of the honorable son of the honorable, is Yūsuf, the son of Ya‘qūb, the son of Is'hāq, the son of Ibrahīm (peace be upon all of them) O Allah, forgive the Ansār, the offspring of the Ansār, and the offspring of the offspring of the Ansār Fātimah is a piece of me, so whoever makes her angry makes me angry Look at this man, he is asking me about the blood of mosquitoes, while they [Iraqis] killed the grandson of the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him). I heard the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) say: They [his two grandsons] are my two flowers in this world O Allah, I do love him. So love him and love whoever loves him O ‘Ā'ish, this is Jibrīl greeting you with peace. I said: May Allah's peace, mercy, and blessings be upon him. You see what I cannot see Many men attained perfection, but of women none attained perfection except Āsiyah, the wife of Pharaoh, and Maryam, the daughter of ‘Imrān. Indeed, the superiority of ‘Ā'ishah to other women is like the superiority of Tharīd to other meals Every nation has an extremely trustworthy man, and the most trustworthy man of this Ummah is Abu ‘Ubaydah ibn al-Jarrāh I never saw the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) ask that his parents be sacrificed for anyone after Sa‘d. I heard him say: Shoot your arrow, may my mother and father be sacrificed for you I am concerned about your [my wives] lives and affairs after my death. None will be forbearing towards you (provide for you), except the patient ones O Allah, make him a guide who is rightly guided, and guide others through him It has been revealed to me that you will be tested in your graves with a trial close to that of the Anti-Christ The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) went out after the sun had set. He heard a sound and then said: The Jews are being tormented in their graves Describing part of the bliss of the grave and its torment Count six signs that indicate the approach of the Hour The Hour will not be established until a fire comes out of the land of Hejaz and throws light on the necks of camels in Busra There would be a caliph in the last (period) of my Ummah who would freely give handfuls of wealth to the people without counting it The Hour will not be established until you fight the Turks, who have small eyes, red faces, and flat noses. Their faces look like hammered shields. Again, the Hour will not be established until you fight people wearing shoes made of hair The Hour will not appear until you fight the non-Arab Khudh and Kirman. They are red faced, flat nosed, and small eyed. Their faces are like shields coated with leather and their shoes are made of hair The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the effeminate men and the masculine women. He said: Turn them out of your houses O Khālid, after me, events, trials, and divergence will occur. So if you can be the servant of Allah who is killed, and not the one killing, then do so Hijrah will not cease so long as the disbelievers are being fought ‘Ali ibn Abi Tālib (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I will be the first to kneel before the Most-Merciful on the Day of Resurrection for the dispute "I am not weeping because I do not know that what Allah holds is better for the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him), but I weep because the revelation from the sky has stopped." Her words moved them to tears and they began to weep along with her What makes you not visit us more than you do? From among your caliphs there will be a caliph, at the end of times, who will distribute money without counting it O Commander of the Believers! Allah said to His Prophet: {Show forgiveness, enjoin what is good, and turn away from the ignorants} [Al-A‘rāf: 199]. Indeed, this one is from the ignorants Some people came to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "Send with us some men to teach us the Qur'an and the Sunnah." So he sent to them seventy men from the Ansār who were called "the reciters"; among them was my maternal uncle Harām We set out with the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) on one of his travels, and on the way the provisions became very scarce I do not think that so-and-so and so-and-so know anything about our religion If I lived until I finished eating these dates of mine, it would be a long life indeed. So he threw away the dates he had then fought them until he was killed Allah, the Exalted, sent down the Divine Revelation to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) abundantly during the period preceding his death until he died at a time when the revelation had never been more abundant The Messenger of Allah dispatched a secret troop of ten men under the leadership of ‘Āsim ibn Thābit al-Ansāri The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) called for water, and he was brought a wide shallow vessel with some water in it. He put his fingers in it ‘Umar ibn al-Khattāb (may Allah be pleased with him) allocated a sum of four thousand dirhams for each of the early Muhājirūn While Ayyūb (peace be upon him) was taking a bath, naked, golden locusts began to fall upon him If you knew what was in store for you with Allah, the Exalted, you would love to be increased in poverty and need A man came to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and said: I am weary Indeed, Allah is benevolent and He loves benevolence to everything. So, if you kill, kill benevolently, and if you slaughter, slaughter benevolently. Let one of you sharpen his blade and relieve his animal of suffering No Muslim regularly attends the mosques to perform prayer and remember Allah, but Allah is delighted for him just as the family of one who was away, is delighted upon his return On the Day of Resurrection, Allah will deliver to every Muslim a Jew or a Christian and say: This is your ransom from Hellfire None spoke in the cradle, except three The narrative of Mūsa (Moses) (peace be upon him) and Al-Khidr I saw the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) reciting it and putting his two fingers While the mother of Isma‘īl was breastfeeding her son Isma‘īl, Ibrahīm brought them to a place near the House; under a tree on the spot of Zamzam and the highest place in the Mosque. During those days there was nobody in Makkah nor was there any water During the battle of Mu'tah, nine swords were broken in my hand, and all that remained with me was a Yemeni sword Bear in mind, O Abu Mas‘ūd, that Allah has more power over you than you have over this boy. I said: I will never beat a slave ever again Do not weep for my brother after this day An-Nu‘mān ibn Bashīr (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: ‘Abdullāh ibn Rawāhah (may Allah be pleased with him) fell down unconscious, so his sister started crying. She said: "O my mountain! O so-and-so!" and went on calling him by his good qualities one by one. When he came to his senses, he said: "Whenever you said something, I was asked: 'Are you really so?'" Any wealth that I have conferred upon my slave is lawful for him. And I have created all My slaves with a natural predisposition to worship Allah alone, but the devils came to them and turned them away from their religion My Lord, support me and do not support others against me; grant me victory and do not grant others victory over me; plan for me and do not plan against me; guide me and make my guidance easy for me; grant me victory against whoever wronged me Indeed Allah, the Almighty, created His creation in darkness, then He cast His Light upon them, so whoever is touched by that light is guided, and whoever is not goes astray. Is there anyone who has an uncle like him? Never was ‘Ammār given a choice between two matters except that he chose the one that is more rightly-guided The two sons of al-‘Ās are believers: ‘Amr and Hishām When Allah intends to take a slave in a (particular) land, He gives him a reason to go there You will invade the Arabian Peninsula and Allah will conquer it; then Persia and Allah will conquer it; then you will attack the Byzantines and Allah will conquer them; then you will attack the Anti-Christ and Allah will conquer him Two groups of my Ummah Allah shall protect from the Fire: a group that invades India and a group that will be with ‘Īsa ibn Maryam (peace be upon both of them) Beware! Every object of pride of the pre-Islamic times, whether it is blood-vengeance or property, or mentioned or claimed, has been put under my feet, except the supply of water to pilgrims and the custody of the House Go back, for I will not seek help from a polytheist Faith has over seventy branches or over sixty branches, the most excellent of which is the declaration that there is no god but Allah, and the lowest of which is the removal of what is harmful from the path; and modesty is a branch of faith The reward of a man's prayer in congregation is twenty five times greater than that of the prayer he offers in his house or market O mother of Hārithah, there are many ranks in the gardens of Paradise, and your son has attained Al-Firdaus No one has ever eaten food better than that which his hands have earned. Indeed, Prophet Dawūd (peace be upon him) used to eat from the earnings of his own hands May Allah curse the Jews and the Christians, they took the graves of their prophets as places of worship Read the Qur’an, as it will come as an intercessor for its companions on the Day of Resurrection By the One in Whose hand Muhammad's soul is! I hope that you would be one-half of the inhabitants of Paradise; for none shall enter Paradise except a Muslim soul, and you, compared to the polytheists, are no more than a white hair on the skin of a black ox Whoever carries weapons against us is not one of us Verily, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) disavowed the Sāliqah (wailing woman), the Hāliqah (shaving woman), and the Shāqqah (woman tearing garment) The Muslim's right over his fellow Muslim is six." It was said: What are they, O Messenger of Allah? He said: "When you meet him, greet him with peace; when he invites you, accept his invitation; when he seeks your advice, advise him; when he sneezes and praises Allah, say Tasmīt to him; when he falls sick, visit him; and when he dies, follow him Whoever memorizes the first ten verses of Surat al-Kahf will be protected from the Antichrist." Another version reads: "the last ten verses of Surat al-Kahf Allah will gather the people, the first and the last, in one place, where they will hear the caller and they will be sighted clearly. The sun will draw near, and people will be overwhelmed with anguish and distress that they cannot endure or bear The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the man who wears women's clothes and the woman who wears men's clothes
