I stand acquitted before Allah that I took anyone of you as an intimate friend, for Allah has taken me as an intimate friend just as he took Ibrahīm as an intimate friend. Had I taken anyone from my nation as an intimate friend, I would have taken Abu Bakr as an intimate friend Hold fast to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly guided Caliphs after me The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said about the Ansār: No one loves them except a believer, and no one hates them except a hypocrite. Allah loves whoever loves them and hates whoever hates them The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said on the Day of Khaybar: I shall give this flag to a man who loves Allah and His Messenger, through whom Allah will grant victory Do not insult my Companions, for if anyone of you spend gold equal to Mount Uhud (in Allah's cause), it will not be equal to a Mudd or even half a Mudd spent by one of them Those who took part in Badr and Al-Hudaybiyah will not enter Hellfire These two are the masters of the elderly people of Paradise, from the first ones and the last ones, except the prophets and the messengers Go and say to him: You are not from the people of Hellfire, but from the people of Paradise He came to the Black Stone and kissed it and said: Verily, I know that you are a stone that can neither benefit nor harm. Had I not seen the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) kissing you, I would not have kissed you. Order Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer While a man was reciting Sūrat al-Kahf, with his horse tied with two ropes beside him You have been endowed with one of the melodious voices of the family of Dawūd Should I not feel shy of a man whom the angels feel shy of? This is the one at whose death the Throne shook; the gates of heaven were opened for him; and seventy thousand angles attended his funeral. He was squeezed once then was released O Allah, forgive the Ansār, the offspring of the Ansār, and the offspring of the offspring of the Ansār Every nation has an extremely trustworthy man, and the most trustworthy man of this Ummah is Abu ‘Ubaydah ibn al-Jarrāh I never saw the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) ask that his parents be sacrificed for anyone after Sa‘d. I heard him say: Shoot your arrow, may my mother and father be sacrificed for you O Allah, make him a guide who is rightly guided, and guide others through him O Commander of the Believers! Allah said to His Prophet: {Show forgiveness, enjoin what is good, and turn away from the ignorants} [Al-A‘rāf: 199]. Indeed, this one is from the ignorants Some people came to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "Send with us some men to teach us the Qur'an and the Sunnah." So he sent to them seventy men from the Ansār who were called "the reciters"; among them was my maternal uncle Harām If I lived until I finished eating these dates of mine, it would be a long life indeed. So he threw away the dates he had then fought them until he was killed ‘Umar ibn al-Khattāb (may Allah be pleased with him) allocated a sum of four thousand dirhams for each of the early Muhājirūn If you knew what was in store for you with Allah, the Exalted, you would love to be increased in poverty and need During the battle of Mu'tah, nine swords were broken in my hand, and all that remained with me was a Yemeni sword Your companion Hanzhalah is being washed by the angels, so ask his wife While Usayd ibn Hudayr was reciting in his dates storehouse at night, his horse got startled and began to jump. He again recited, and the horse got startled and began to jump again. He again recited, and it got startled and began to jump as before. Usayd said: I was afraid that the horse may trample (my son) Yahya. I stood near it and saw something like a canopy over my head, with what looked like lamps in it, rising up in the sky until I could no longer see it Indeed, the devil is afraid of you, O ‘Umar! I was sitting while she beat the tambourine, and then Abu Bakr entered while she was beating it, then ‘Ali entered while she was beating it, then ‘Uthmān entered while she was beating it, and then when you entered, O ‘Umar, she put away the tambourine Abu Jumu‘ah al-Ansāri once came to us and said: "We were with the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) and we were ten, including Mu‘ādh ibn Jabal. He tried to rise over a boulder, but he could not. Then Talhah bowed down and lifted the Prophet, so he could settle on the boulder. He then heard the Prophet saying: It is obligatory for Talhah On seeing Sa‘d coming, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: This is my maternal uncle. Is there anyone who has an uncle like him? Never was ‘Ammār given a choice between two matters except that he chose the one that is more rightly-guided The two sons of al-‘Ās are believers: ‘Amr and Hishām O mother of Hārithah, there are many ranks in the gardens of Paradise, and your son has attained Al-Firdaus
