Benefits from the Hadith

  1. A Muslim should pay due attention to his heart and its traits, set its objectives aright, and purify it from all reproachable qualities.
  2. The reward for deeds depends on the sincerity and good intention determined within the heart.
  3. Caring about the reform of the heart and its attributes should take precedence over actions of the body, for it is the action of the heart that makes deeds valid. The deeds of a disbeliever are invalid.
  4. A person will be held accountable for his deeds and intentions. This prompts him to rectify the action of his heart in a way that pleases Allah and His Messenger.
