Abu Sa‘īd al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Al-Hasan and Al-Husayn are the masters of the youth of Paradise."

[Authentic hadith] - [Narrated by At-Termedhy & Ahmad] - [Sunan At-Termedhy - 3768]

Explanation

The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) informed that his two grandsons, Al-Hasan and Al-Husayn, the sons of ‘Ali ibn Abi Tālib and Fātimah, the Prophet's daughter (may Allah be pleased with them), are the masters of those who die young and enter Paradise in terms of virtue, or they are the masters of the youth of Paradise except for the prophets and the rightly-guided caliphs.

Benefits from the Hadith

  1. It indicates the clear merit of Al-Hasan and Al-Husayn (may Allah be pleased with both of them).
  2. It was said regarding the meaning of the Hadīth: At the time of the Hadīth, they were the masters of the youth who were from among the people of Paradise from the youth of that era. Or they are superior to those for whom a general preference has not been established like that established for the prophets and the caliphs. Or they are the masters of those who possess the qualities of youth and manliness, such as chivalry, generosity, and courage, and it does not refer to the age of youth because Al-Hasan and Al-Husayn both died as middle-aged men.
