1. ‘Umrah in Ramadan is equivalent to Hajj – or Hajj with me. 2. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to observe I‘tikāf [spiritual retirement in the mosque] during each Ramadan for ten days. The year in which he died, he observed I‘tikāf for twenty days. 3. The best Jihad for you (women) is an accepted Hajj. 4. Whoever fights so that the word of Allah be supreme is indeed fighting in the cause of Allah. 5. Do not wear silk or brocade, and do not drink from gold or silver vessels, nor eat in platters made therefrom, for they are for them in this world and for you in the Hereafter. 6. If anyone swears by a religion other than Islam falsely and intentionally, he is as he has said - 2 ملاحظة 7. Mu‘āwiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) came upon a group of people sitting in a circle in the mosque, and he asked them: "What made you sit together?" They replied: "We are sitting together to remember Allah." 8. Straighten your rows, for indeed, straightening the rows is part of the perfection of the prayer - 1 ملاحظة 9. Modesty brings nothing but good - 1 ملاحظة 10. Let not a believing man hate a believing woman. If he dislikes one of her characteristics, he will be pleased with another 11. I was with the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) then he urinated, and performed ablution and wiped over his leather socks 12. When you go to a place to relieve yourselves, do not turn your face or back toward the Qiblah while defecating or urinating, but face east or west. 13. No one of you should hold his penis with his right hand while urinating, or clean himself after answering the call of nature using his right hand, or breathe into the vessel 14. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to raise his hands to the level of his shoulders when he commenced the prayer, when he said Takbīr before bowing, and when he raised his head after bowing, he would raise them to that level as well 15. O Messenger of Allah, may my father and mother ransom you, what is it you say between the (opening) Takbīr and the recitation (of the Qur'an)? He said: I say: O Allah, keep me away from my sins as You have kept the east away from the west. O Allah, cleanse me from my sins as a white garment is cleansed from dirt. O Allah, wash my sins away with water, snow and hail 16. Shall I tell you something about the Antichrist that no prophet has ever told his people? Verily, he is one-eyed and will bring with him something like Paradise and Hell. What he says is paradise will actually be hell 17. Be moderate in prostration, and let none of you spread his forearms on the ground like a dog 18. The example of the righteous companion and the evil companion is like that of the musk-seller and the one who blows the bellows - 1 ملاحظة 19. Hasten to good deeds before being overtaken by tribulations that are like parts of the dark night. A man would be a believer in the morning and turn to a disbeliever in the evening, or he would be a believer in the evening and turn to a disbeliever in the morning. He sells his religion for a worldly gain - 1 ملاحظة 20. When the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) prayed, he used to keep his upper arms away from his sides, such that the whiteness of his armpits would be visible 21. The most excellent dinar that a man spends is the dinar that he spends on his dependents, and the dinar that he spends on his riding-animal in the cause of Allah, and the dinar that he spends on his companions in the cause of Allah. 22. How wonderful the affair of the believer is! Indeed, all of his affairs are good for him. This is for none but the believer. If something good happens to him, he is grateful to Allah, which is good for him. And if something bad happens to him, he has patience, which is good for him - 1 ملاحظة 23. I prepared water for Allah's Messenger to purify himself from the major ritual impurity. He poured water with his right hand onto his left hand twice or three times and then washed his private parts and rubbed his hand on the ground or the wall 24. Whenever the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) sneezed, he would cover his mouth with his hand or cloth, lowering the sound therewith 25. Surely, you will follow the ways of those nations who were before you, in everything as one arrow resembles another, so much so that even if they entered a hole of a sand-lizard, you would enter it. They said: O Messenger of Allah, do you mean the Jews and the Christians? He replied: Who else? 26. Raise your head, say and you will be heard, ask and you will be given, intercede and your intercession will be fulfilled 27. There is no contagion, nor is there any evil omen in birds, nor is there any evil omen in the owl, nor is there any bad omen in the month of Safar 28. Verily, I will give the flag tomorrow to a man who loves Allah and His Messenger, and is loved by Allah and His Messenger, and Allah will bring victory under his leadership - 1 ملاحظة 29. When people see an oppressor but do not prevent him from committing sin, it is likely that Allah will punish them all 30. By the One in Whose Hand my soul is! Either you command good and forbid evil, or Allah will soon send upon you a punishment from Him, then you will pray to Him but He will not respond to you - 1 ملاحظة 31. Shall I not tell you something by which Allah erases sins and elevates ranks (in Paradise)? The Companions said: Certainly, O Messenger of Allah! He said: Performing the ablution properly even in difficulty, increasing attendance of prayer in the mosque, and waiting for the next prayer after observing one prayer; and this is Jihad 32. Shall I not inform you of the best of your deeds which are the most praiseworthy in the sight of your Lord 33. A man from the people of Najd, with disheveled hair, came to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him). We could hear his loud voice but could not understand what he was saying: until he came close to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) when it then became clear that he was asking about Islam 34. The best day the sun has risen over is Friday: on it Adam was created, on it he was admitted into Paradise, and on it he was driven out of it 35. May he be disgraced, may he be disgraced, may he be disgraced, he whose parents, one or both, reach old age in his life and he does not enter Paradise 36. The Mufarridūn have gone ahead 37. Make frequent prostration to Allah, for every prostration that you make for Allah, He will raise your position a degree and will remit one of your sins 38. O Messenger of Allah, who is the most entitled among people to my good companionship? He said: Your mother, then your mother, then your mother, then your father, and then those who are the closest to you - 3 ملاحظة 39. Whoever prays the Bardayn will enter Paradise 40. When a Muslim is questioned in the grave, he testifies that There is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. This is the explanation of the words of Allah, the Exalted: {Allah will keep firm those who believe, with the firm statement in this world and the Hereafter} [Sūrat Ibrahīm: 27] 41. Allah has pardoned for my sake the mistakes and forgetfulness of my Ummah, and what they were coerced to do - 1 ملاحظة 42. Do not ask me unnecessarily about what I did not mention to you. Verily, what destroyed those who were before you was their asking too many questions and their disagreement with their Prophets. So, if I forbid you from something, then avoid it; and if I command you to do something, then do as much of it as you can 43. Fear Allah wherever you are, follow a bad deed with a good deed and it will erase it, and treat people with good morals - 2 ملاحظة 44. Allah, the Almighty, stretches His Hand during the night so that the sinners of the day may repent, and stretches His Hand in the day so that the sinners of the night may repent. He keeps doing so until the sun rises from the west - 1 ملاحظة 45. 'On each joint of humans there is a charity every day on which the sun rises: doing justice between two persons is a charity; helping someone with his mount, lifting him onto it or hoisting his belongings onto it, is a charity; and a good word is a charity 46. Do not envy one another, do not raise prices by overbidding against one another, do not hate one another, do not turn your backs on each other, and do not undercut one another in trade; but be, O slaves of Allah, as brothers - 2 ملاحظة 47. The blood of a Muslim is inviolable except by one of three: adultery by a married person, a life for a life (homicide), abandoning Islam and separating from the Islamic body 48. None of you is a real believer until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself 49. He who is deprived of gentleness is deprived of all goodness 50. Injustice will be excessive darkness on the Day of Judgment - 3 ملاحظة 51. Whoever takes a bath on Friday, like the bath taken from sexual impurity, and then goes (to the mosque) on the first hour is like the one who offers a camel as a sacrifice; and whoever goes on the second hour is like the one who offers a cow as a sacrifice 52. Whoever eats food and says: Praise be to Allah who fed me and provided me with this food through no might or power on my part), his past sins will be forgiven 53. He who performs ablution properly, then comes to the Friday prayer and listens to it attentively and keeps silent, his sins between that Friday and the following Friday will be forgiven, with the addition of three more days; but he who touches a pebble has engaged in idle activity - 1 ملاحظة 54. Allah, the Exalted, said: O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and implore Me, I shall forgive you no matter what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I shall forgive you - 2 ملاحظة 55. Adhere to truthfulness, for truthfulness leads to righteousness and righteousness leads to Paradise - 2 ملاحظة 56. O people, spread the greeting of peace profusely, maintain kinship ties, feed others, and pray at night when people are asleep, you will enter Paradise in peace 57. Indeed, the religion is easy, and no one overburdens himself with the religion but he will be overwhelmed by it. So, be moderate in your religion; if you can't reach perfection then try to be near to it, and receive glad tidings that you will be rewarded. Take benefit of the morning, evening and part of the night - 1 ملاحظة 58. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about the foremost deed that leads people to Paradise, and he replied: Fear of Allah and good character. Then, he was asked about the most things that lead people into Hellfire, and he said: The tongue and the private parts 59. O young men, those of you who can afford to should marry; it restrains the gaze and fortifies one's chastity. Those who cannot should fast; it controls the sexual desire 60. Whenever the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) went to his bed, he would blow into his hands, recite the Mu‘awwidhāt, and then pass his hands over his body 61. Three will not enter Paradise: the habitual drinker of alcohol, the one who severs the ties of kinship, and the one who believes in sorcery‎ - 1 ملاحظة 62. The Imām is appointed so that he should be followed; so, do not act differently from him. When he makes Takbīr all of you should say it after him; bow when he bows; say "O our Lord, all praise be to You" when he says: Allah hears the one who praises Him; prostrate when he prostates; and all of you should pray sitting when he prays sitting 63. When you (both) go to your bed say "Allah is the Greatest" thirty-three times "Glory be to Allah" thirty-three times, and "Praise be to Allah" thirty-three times 64. A man said: O Messenger of Allah, when a man amongst us meets a brother or a friend, should he bow to him? He said: No. He said: Should he embrace and kiss him? He said: No. He said: Should he take his hand and shake it? He said: Yes - 1 ملاحظة 65. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) was the most generous of people - 1 ملاحظة 66. Whoever swears by Al-Lāt and Al-‘Uzza (pagan idols) should say: there is no god but Allah. Whoever says to his companion "Come and gamble with me" should give charity 67. Do you know who the bankrupt is? - 1 ملاحظة 68. Guard yourselves against Hellfire, even with half a date - 1 ملاحظة 69. O Ruwayfi‘, you may live a long life after me; so, inform people that anyone who ties his beard, wears a string around his neck, or cleanse himself with animal dung or with bone, indeed Muhammad has nothing to do with him 70. Whoever reports a Hadīth on my authority that is thought to be false is one of the two liars 71. When the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) entered the mosque, he would say: I seek refuge in Allah, the Majestic, and in His Noble Countenance, and in His eternal dominion, from the accursed devil 72. Allah says to the one receiving the least torment in Fire: If everything on earth was yours, would you ransom yourself with it? He says: Yes. Allah says: I had asked you for something easier than that when you were in the backbone of Adam: to not associate partners with Me, but you insisted on associating partners with Me 73. How shouldn't we be contented, O Lord, when You have given us what You have not given to any of Your creation? Then He will say: Wouldn't you like Me to give you something better than that? And they will say: O Lord, what is better than that? He will say: I shall descend My favor upon you and thereafter I shall never be displeased with you 74. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was performing ablution; he rinsed his mouth thrice and blew water out of his nose thrice. He then washed his face thrice and his right and left forearms thrice, then he took more water and wiped over his head, and then he washed his feet until he cleaned them - 1 ملاحظة 75. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to take a ritual bath with one Sā‘ of water up to five Mudd and used to perform ablution with one Mudd 76. If any Muslim performs ablution well then stands and prays two Rak‘ahs while focused on them with his heart and his face, Paradise is guaranteed for him 77. Angels do not enter a house where there is a dog or an image 78. Do not swear by false deities nor by your fathers 79. Whoever performs ablution on Friday, that is good, and whoever takes a bath has done what is better - 1 ملاحظة 80. When it is Friday, the angels stand at the door of the mosque and keep on writing the names of those coming in order of their arrival - 1 ملاحظة 81. Do not insult my Companions, for if anyone of you spend gold equal to Mount Uhud (in Allah's cause), it will not be equal to a Mudd or even half a Mudd spent by one of them 82. The best rows for men are the first, and the worst are the last, and the best rows for women are the last and the worst are the first - 1 ملاحظة 83. A man's prayer with another man is purer than his prayer alone, and his prayer with two men is purer than his prayer with one man; the greater the number, the more pleasing it is to Allah, the Almighty 84. Allah has forgiven my Ummah for the thoughts that come to their minds, unless they act upon them or utter them - 1 ملاحظة
