Ibn ‘Abbās (may Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was the most generous of people, and he used to be more generous than ever in Ramadan when Gabriel (Jibrīl) would meet him. He used to meet him every night during Ramadan to revise the Qur'an with him. Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was more generous than the fast wind.
[Authentic hadith] - [Narrated by Bukhari & Muslim] - [Sahih Bukhari - 6]
The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was the most generous of people, and his generosity was more intense in the month of Ramadan when he would give what was appropriate to those who were worthy of that. His increased generosity was caused by two things:
First: His meeting with Gabriel (peace be upon him).
Second: Revising the Qur’an, which is to recite it by heart.
Gabriel (peace be upon him) would revise all that was revealed of the Qur’an with him. Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was more generous, more giving, more intense in doing good, and faster in bringing benefit to the people than a good wind sent by Allah with rain and mercy.
