Whoever bears witness that there is no god but Allah, alone with no partner, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger, that ‘Isa is the slave and Messenger of Allah, and His word which He communicated to Maryam, and a spirit from Him; and that Paradise is true and Hell is true, Allah will certainly admit him into Paradise, regardless of the deeds which he has done Whoever meets Allah without associating partners with Him will enter Paradise, and whoever meets Him while associating partners with Him will enter Hell Whoever guarantees for me to safeguard what is between his jaws and what is between his legs, I shall guarantee Paradise for him Paradise is nearer to one of you than his shoelace, and so is Hellfire Hellfire is surrounded by lusts, and Paradise is surrounded by adversities The most frequent deeds that lead people to Paradise are piety and good manners When Allah created Paradise and Hellfire, He sent Jibrīl (peace be upon him) So-and-so, what is the matter with you? Did you not use to command us to do right and forbid us from doing wrong? He will say: Yes, I commanded you to do right but I did not do it myself, and I forbade you from doing wrong but I used to do it myself That is a stone which was thrown into Hell seventy years ago and it has just reached its bottom and now you've just heard its bang I was with Sa‘īd ibn Jubayr when he said: Who among you saw a shooting star last night? I said: It was I. Then I said: In fact, I was not (busy) in prayer, but I was stung by a scorpion In Paradise, there are one hundred degrees that Allah prepared for those who make Jihad in the cause of Allah. The distance between each two degrees is like the distance between the heaven and earth Anyone spends a pair in the way of Allah will be called from the gates of Paradise: O slave of Allah, this is good! So, whoever was from the people of prayer will be called from the gate of prayer; whoever was from the people of Jihad will be called from the gate of Jihad The least tortured one among the dwellers of Fire on the Day of Judgment is a man who will have two live coals placed underneath his feet that will cause his brain to boil. He will think that none is tortured more than him, while he is the least tortured Shall I not inform of whom Hellfire is forbidden for? Or he is forbidden for Hellfire? It is forbidden for someone who is accessible, lenient, tender, and easy to get along with Among them are those whom the fire will reach up to their ankles, others up to their knees, others up to their waists, and others up to their collarbones Hellfire will be brought on that Day with seventy thousand bridles; and with each bridle, there will be seventy thousand angels pulling it Three will not enter Paradise: the habitual drinker of alcohol, the one who severs the ties of kinship, and the one who believes in sorcery‎ The Sirāt will be placed over the center of Hell, covered with thorns similar to the thorns of the Sa‘dān. Then, people will pass over it; some will be safe without any harm, some will be safe after receiving some scratches, and some will fall down into Hell When the inhabitants of Paradise enter Paradise, a caller will call out: Indeed, you will live forever and never die, you will be healthy and never fall ill, you will be young and never grow old, and you will be happy and never be sad How shouldn't we be contented, O Lord, when You have given us what You have not given to any of Your creation? Then He will say: Wouldn't you like Me to give you something better than that? And they will say: O Lord, what is better than that? He will say: I shall descend My favor upon you and thereafter I shall never be displeased with you When the dwellers of Paradise enter Paradise, Allah, Blessed and Exalted, would ask: Do you wish Me to give you anything more? They would say: Have You not brightened our faces? Have You not made us enter Paradise and saved us from the Fire? He would then lift the veil, and of all the things they have been given, nothing would be dearer to them than looking at their Lord Verily, for the believer in Paradise is a tent made of a single hollow pearl, the length of which would be sixty miles in the sky. The believer will have wives therein whom he will visit in turn, and none of whom will see the others The dwellers of Paradise will look at the dwellers of the lofty chambers above them in the same way that you look at a shining star far away on the horizon, in the East or in the West, due to their superiority over one another A place in Paradise as small as a bow is better than all that upon which the sun rises and sets There are two categories of Hell inmates whom I have not seen: people having whips like the tails of cows with which they will be beating people, and women who will be dressed but appear to be naked, inviting to evil; and they themselves will be inclined to it. Their heads will appear like the humps of the Bactrian camels inclined to one side. They will not enter Paradise O womenfolk, give charity, for I have seen that you form the majority of the inhabitants of Hellfire. They said: Why is that, O Messenger of Allah? He said: You curse frequently and you are ungrateful to your husbands. I have not seen anyone deficient in intelligence and religion, yet a decisive and sensible man could be led and subdued by one of you I know the last of the inhabitants of Hell to come out of it, and the last of the inhabitants of Paradise to enter it. He is a man who will emerge from Hellfire crawling, and Allah, the Almighty, will say to him: Go and enter Paradise. When he arrives, it will appear to him that it is full. He will say: O Lord, I have found it full Do you find any difficulty in seeing the sun at noon when there are no clouds? They said: No. He again said: Do you find any difficulty in seeing the moon during the fourteenth night when there are no clouds? Death will be brought forward in the shape of a black and white ram Your fire is one-seventieth part of Hellfire I looked into Paradise and found that the majority of its people are the poor, and I looked into the Fire and found that the majority of its people are women Paradise and Hell debated. Hell said: The tyrants and the proud are in me. Paradise said: The weak and the poor are in me I stood at the gate of Paradise and saw that most of those who entered it were the poor and destitute. The people of means were held back If the believer were to know what is with Allah of punishment, no one would hope to enter Paradise, and if the non-believer were to know what is with Allah of mercy, no one would despair of entering Paradise Whoever is pleased with Allah as their Lord, with Islam as their religion, and with Muhammad as their Messenger, Paradise is guaranteed for him Encouraging towards the eternal bliss of Paradise and warning of the severe torment of Hellfire Paradise and Hell were presented to me, and I have never seen good and evil like what I saw today. If you knew what I know, you will rarely laugh and you will cry abundantly Allah, Glorified and Exalted, wonders at those people who will enter Paradise in chains Oxus, Jaxartes, Euphrates, and the Nile are all from the rivers of Paradise Paradise and Hell argued with one another. Hell said: I have been assigned the arrogant and the tyrants. Paradise said: Why is it that only the weak, the insignificant, and the simple enter me? Two gardens, the utensils and the contents of which are of silver; two other gardens, the utensils and the contents of which are of gold. Nothing will prevent people from looking at their Lord except the veil of pride over His Face in the Garden of Eden Verily, the lowest place of any of you in Paradise will be that Allah will tell him to express his wish. He will wish and wish again. Allah will then ask him: Have you expressed your wish? He will answer: Yes, I have. Allah will say: You will have what you have wished for and the like thereof along with it In Paradise there is a tree that the rider of a lean swift horse cannot cover (its distance) in one hundred years Verily, in Paradise there is a market to which people will come every Friday Any Muslim who loses (to death) three children before reaching puberty will be admitted by Allah into Paradise because of his being merciful to them Allah, the Almighty, said: "I have prepared for My righteous slaves what no eye has ever seen, no ear has ever heard, and no human heart has ever conceived," and recite if you wish: {And no soul knows what delight awaits them as the reward for their deeds} A woman was tormented because of a cat which she had kept locked up until it died, and she was thrown into Hell for that. She neither gave it food or drink when she locked it up nor freed it so that it would eat from the vermin of the earth On the Day of Resurrection, Allah will deliver to every Muslim a Jew or a Christian and say: This is your ransom from Hellfire Any wealth that I have conferred upon my slave is lawful for him. And I have created all My slaves with a natural predisposition to worship Allah alone, but the devils came to them and turned them away from their religion Whoever Allah saves from the evil of what is between his jaws and the evil of what is between his legs will enter Paradise Paradise and Hellfire argued with each other (each claiming to be better than the other). Paradise said: The weak and poor will enter me. Hellfire said: The tyrants and arrogant will enter me. He said to Hellfire: You are My punishment with which I will exact revenge upon whomever I wish. Then He said to Paradise: You are My mercy with which I will show mercy to whomever I wish By the One in Whose hand Muhammad's soul is! I hope that you would be one-half of the inhabitants of Paradise; for none shall enter Paradise except a Muslim soul, and you, compared to the polytheists, are no more than a white hair on the skin of a black ox The dwellers of Paradise will see the upper abodes of Paradise as you see the stars in the sky
