«إِذَا أَنْفَقَ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ يَحْتَسِبُهَا فَهُوَ لَهُ صَدَقَةٌ».

Abu Mas‘ūd (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If a man spends something on his family, seeking reward from Allah for it, it will be recorded for him as charity."

Explanation

The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) informs that when a man spends on his family, whose maintenance is due upon him, such as his wife, parents, and children, seeking nearness to Allah Almighty by doing so and pursuing reward from Him, he will have the reward of charity.
