Whoever performs Hajj without engaging in rafath (sexual relations or obscene speech) or sinning will return like the day his mother gave birth to him There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than on these days," referring to the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah Islam is built on five People were commanded to make (Tawāf around) the Ka‘bah the last thing they do, but an exception was made for the menstruating woman There is no emigration after the Conquest, but there is Jihad and good intention, and whenever you are called for Jihad, you should immediately respond to the call Madīnah is a sanctuary from ‘Ayr to Thawr (mountains). Whoever innovates something new (in religion) or shelters an innovator in it will incur the curse of Allah, the angels, and all the people, and Allah will accept from him neither an obligatory nor a supererogatory prayer on the Day of Resurrection There is no day on which Allah sets free more of His slaves from Fire than the Day of ‘Arafah. He verily draws near, then He boasts about them before the angels saying: What do these people want? No woman should travel on a two-day-distant journey except with her husband or a Mahram ‘Ā’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: I asked for the permission of the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) to make Jihad, so he said: Your Jihad is pilgrimage A prayer in this mosque of mine is better than a thousand prayers anywhere else, except for the Sacred Mosque Perform ‘Umrah when Ramadan comes, for ‘Umrah in it is equivalent to Hajj O Messenger of Allah, we consider Jihad the best deed; should we not perform Jihad? He said, "No; rather, the best Jihad is Mabrūr (accepted) Hajj The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) sacrificed two black and white horned rams, which he slaughtered with his hand, as he mentioned Allah's name and said: "Allāhu Akbar" (Allah is the Most Great), and put his foot on their necks When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and his Companions went to Makkah, the polytheists said: "There will come to you people who are weakened by the fever of Madīnah." So, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) commanded his Companions to jog the three rounds (of Tawāf) and walk between the two Corners. He came to the Black Stone and kissed it and said: Verily, I know that you are a stone that can neither benefit nor harm. Had I not seen the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) kissing you, I would not have kissed you. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) circumambulated the Ka‘bah in the Farewell Hajj on the back of a camel, touching the Corner with a crook. I did not see the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) wiping with his hand anything of the House except the two Yemeni Corners. O people, proceed calmly, for goodness is not attained by rushing When Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) came to Mina, he went to "Jamrat al-‘Aqabah" and threw pebbles at it. After that, he went to his tent in Mina and sacrificed. Thenو he called for a barber, pointed at the right side of his head, and said: "Shave from here." Then, he pointed at his left side and said: "Take (hair) from here." Then, he distributed his hair among the people. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) put me in charge of slaughtering his camels (which he wanted to sacrifice); and to give in charity their meat, skins, and saddle cloths; and not to give any of them to the butcher Al-‘Abbās ibn ‘Abdul-Muttalib sought permission from the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) to spend the nights of Mina in Makkah to provide (the pilgrims with) water, and he permitted him The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) once sent sheep as Hady I wove the collars for the sacrificial animals of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) then I marked them and he - or I - put the collars on their necks, and he sent them to the Ka‘bah and stayed at Madīnah, and he was not forbidden from anything which was lawful for him (before sending them) The Prophet of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) saw a man carrying a sacrificial camel, so he said: Ride it. The man said: It is a sacrificial camel. He said: Ride it While a man was standing at ‘Arafāt, he fell from his mount and it snapped his neck. So, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: Wash him with water and Sidr, and shroud him in his two garments, and do not perfume him or cover his head, for he will be resurrected on the Day of Judgment reciting Talbiyah (Here I am, O Allah, at Your service!) He stood such that the Ka‘bah was on his left and Mina was on his right then he said: This is the standing place of the one to whom Sūrat al-Baqarah was revealed I heard the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) delivering a sermon at ‘Arafāt, in which he said: Whoever does not find slippers or sandals (Na‘l) may wear leather socks (Khuff), and whoever does not find a waist sheet (Izār) may wear pants (Sirwāl). He meant the pilgrim in the state of Ihrām The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and his Companions arrived at Makkah assuming Ihrām for Hajj on the fourth day (of Dhu al-Hijjah). The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) ordered them to assume their Ihrām for ‘Umrah (instead of Hajj). They asked: O Messenger of Allah, to what extent should we lift the restrictions of Ihrām? He said: Lift the restrictions of Ihrām completely How did the Messenger (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) travel (from ‘Arafah to Muzdalifah during Hajj)? He said: He would ride at a moderate pace, but when he saw a gap (in the crowd), he would hurry to fill it Five animals are all vicious and harmful and are to be killed (even) inside the Sacred Precincts: the crow, the kite, the scorpion, the mouse, and the mordacious dog He should not wear a shirt, a turban, trousers, a hooded cloak, or leather socks except if he cannot find sandals; he may wear leather socks after cutting them to make them lower than the ankles If I had formerly known what I came to know lately, I would not have brought the sacrificial animal with me. Had there been no sacrificial animal with me, I would have ended my state of lhrām The Messenger (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) prayed on the Day of An-Nahr, then delivered a sermon, then slaughtered (an animal) and said: Whoever slaughtered before praying should slaughter another animal instead, and whoever has not yet slaughtered should slaughter while mentioning Allah's name I gave the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) a zebra as a gift O Allah, have mercy on those who shaved their heads. They said: And those who shortened their hair, O Messenger of Allah? He said: O Allah, have mercy on those who shaved their heads. They said: And those who shortened their hair, O Messenger of Allah? He said: O Allah, have mercy on those who shaved their heads. They said: And those who shortened their hair, O Messenger of Allah? He said: And those who shortened their hair Time has completed its cycle and has returned to its state when Allah created the heavens and the earth. A year consists of twelve months, of which four are sacred; three of them are consecutive: Dhu al-Qi‘dah, Dhu al-Hijjah, Muharram, and Rajab of Mudar The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) performed Hajj on an old saddle, covered by a sheet worth four dirhams or less. Then he said: O Allah, grant me a Hajj in which no showing off is intended nor reputation sought The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) married her when he was outside the state of Ihrām Whoever can afford it but does not offer a sacrifice, let him not come near our prayer place In the year of Al-Hudaybiyah, we slaughtered with the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) a camel on behalf of seven persons and a cow on behalf of seven persons I was taken to perform pilgrimage with the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) in the Farewell Pilgrimage, when I was seven years old. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) performed Hajj on the back of a camel, and the same mount was carrying his baggage as well. ‘Ukkāzh, Mijannah, and Dhū al-Majāz were markets in the pre-Islamic period of ignorance. They considered it a sin to trade during the seasons. So it was revealed: {There is no blame upon you for seeking bounty from your Lord.} The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) entered Makkah from Kadā', from the upper mountain pass which is in Al-Bat-hā', and exited from the lower mountain pass. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to go by way of Ash-Shajarah and return by way of Al-Mu‘arras. He would also enter Makkah through the Higher Pass and leave through the Lower Pass. As the verse of Hajj Tamattu‘ was revealed, the Messenger (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) ordered us to perform it. Nothing was revealed in the Qur'an abrogating it nor did the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) prohibit it until he died I asked Ibn ‘Abbās about Hajj Tamattu‘. He ordered me to perform it. I asked him about the Hady (sacrifice), and he said: You have to slaughter a camel, a cow, a sheep, or you may share the Hady with others. It seemed that some people disliked it A person in a state of Ihrām eating from a game that was not hunted for him, nor did he assist in hunting it I saw that when the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in Makkah, he would touch the Black Corner in the beginning of his Tawāf and walk briskly for three rounds O Messenger of Allah, how come the people have ended their state of Ihrām for ‘Umrah while you have not? he said: I have applied to my hair that which would make it matted and marked my sacrificial animal, and I will not end my Ihrām until I slaughter How did the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) wash his head when he was in the state of Ihrām? We came with the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) while we were pronouncing Talbiyah for Hajj, but the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us; so we made it ‘Umrah I was carried to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and lice were falling on my face. He said: I never thought your ailment has reached such an extent. Can you afford a sheep (as a ransom for shaving your head)? I replied: No. He then said: Fast three days, or feed six poor people. ‘Aqra Halqa! Did she perform the Tawāf on the Day of An-Nahr? It was said: Yes. He said: Then you can depart The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon after having offered the prayer on Eid al-Ad'ha. He said: Whoever prayed our prayer and slaughtered our sacrifice has properly observed the ritual. And whoever slaughtered (his sacrifice) before the (Eid) prayer has not observed the ritual Allah, the Almighty, held back the elephants from Makkah, but He enabled His Messenger and the believers to conquer it. Fighting in it was not permitted for anybody before me, nor will it be permitted for anybody after me; it was permitted for me only for a short while during the day. Verily, it is from this moment a sanctuary This is something that Allah has ordained for the daughters of Adam. So, do everything the pilgrim does, but do not make Tawāf around the Ka‘bah until you are pure Hadīth of Jābir descriibng the Farewell Hajj Wash the perfume off your body thrice, and take off the Jubbah, and do in ‘Umrah as you do in Hajj It is not lawful for a Muslim woman to travel the distance of one night unless accompanied by a man who is a Mahram (non-marriageable male relative) to her The Talbiyah of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him): "Labbayka Allāhumma labbayk, labbayka la sharīka laka labbayk, inna al-hamda wa an-ni‘mata laka wal-mulk, la sharīka lak." (O Allah, I respond to Your call, I do respond. I respond to Your call, You have no partner, I do respond. Verily, praise, blessing, and sovereignty belong to You; You have no partner) Whoever has a sacrifice to slaughter, once the crescent of Dhul-Hijjah is declared, he should not take anything from his hair or his nails until he sacrifices
