Shall I inform you of the gravest of the major sins? Avoid the seven destructive sins Beware of negative assumption, for negative assumption is the falsest of speech A scandalmonger will not enter Paradise The most hateful of men to Allah is the one given to fierce violent disputation Verily, Allah gives respite to the oppressor, but when He seizes him, He does not release him The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade Qaza‘ (shaving parts of the head and leaving other parts unshaven) We were forbidden from adopting the attitude of affectation The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) passed by two graves and said: "They are being tormented, but they are not tormented for a major sin. One of them would not avoid urine, and the other used to walk about spreading malicious gossip." I know a word that if he said, his rage would go away. If he said: I seek refuge with Allah from the accursed devil, his rage would subside Injustice will be excessive darkness on the Day of Judgment Reviling a Muslim is disobedience and fighting him is disbelief It is one of the major sins when a man abuses his parents. It was asked: Would a man ever abuse his parents? He replied: Yes. He abuses the father of another man, who in return abuses his father, and he abuses his mother, and so the latter abuses the former’s mother Whoever listens to the talk of some people while they dislike that, molten lead shall be poured into his ears on the Day of Judgment Those who indulge in cursing will not be intercessors or witnesses on the Day of Resurrection Woe to him who speaks and tells lies so as to make people laugh thereby. Woe to him! Woe to him! Beware of oppression, for oppression will be layers of darkness on the Day of Resurrection; and beware of stinginess, as it ruined those who were before you. It incited them to shed their blood and regard the unlawful as lawful On the Day of Resurrection, there will be three categories of people whom Allah will not speak to, purify, or look at Anyone has an atom's weight of arrogance in his heart will not enter Paradise Do you know who the bankrupt is? Whoever reports a Hadīth on my authority that is thought to be false is one of the two liars If you pursue the faults of the Muslims, you will surely corrupt them, or you will nearly corrupt them Whoever incites a woman against her husband or a slave against his master is not one of us Whoever forsakes his brother for a year is like shedding his blood Verily, the devil has lost hope of being worshiped by those who engage in prayer in the Arabian Peninsula, but has not lost hope in creating discord among them A man must not look at another man's ‘Awrah (must-cover body parts), nor must a woman look at another woman's ‘Awrah; neither should two men lie undressed and touch under one cover, nor should two women lie undressed and touch under one cover Whoever tells lies about me intentionally should take his seat in Hellfire When Allah, the Almighty, gathers together (on the Day of Judgment) all the earlier and later generations of mankind, a banner will be raised for every betrayer, and it will be said: "This is the betrayal of so-and-so, the son of so-and-so." The bankrupt in my Ummah is the one who will come on the Day of Judgment with prayer, fasting and Zakah, but since he hurled abuse at others, accused others of committing adultery without evidence, unlawfully consumed the wealth of others, and shed the blood of others and beat others, his good deeds will be credited to the accounts of others (who suffered at his hands) From the gravest of lies is someone who ascribes himself to other than his biological father, or claims to have seen something in a dream which he actually never saw, or ascribes something to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) which he did not say You have said a word which, if mixed with the water of the sea, it would pollute it If the son of Adam were to own a valley of gold, he would desire to have two valleys. Nothing can fill his mouth except dust, and Allah accepts the repentance of whoever repents Whoever exalts himself over others and walks with a swaggering gait (with pride), will meet Allah while He is angry with him While a man was walking, dressed in fine clothes and admiring himself, with his hair well-combed Whoever acquires knowledge which should be pursued for the sake of Allah... The one who boasts of receiving what he has not been given is like the one who has put on two garments of falsehood When two people insult each other, the one who started will be the sinner until the oppressed exceeds the limits A man was brought to him, and it was said: This is so-and-so, and his beard is dripping with wine. Thereupon he said: We have been prohibited from spying. However, if we see something evident, we will act upon it It is unlawful for a Muslim to abandon his brother for more than three (days); so whoever abandons more than three then dies will enter the Hellfire Verily, Allah tortures those who torture people in this world Whoever beats his slave boy or slaps him for something that he has not done, then the expiation for that is to set him free The sanctity of the wives of the Mujāhids for those who stay behind is like the sanctity of their own mothers When you see those who praise others, throw dust upon their faces The majority of the hypocrites of this Ummah are its reciters
