Jarīr (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I asked the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) about the sudden glance so he said: "c2">“Avert your gaze.”
Sahih/Authentic. - [Muslim]

Explanation

Jarīr ibn ‘Abdullāh (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that he asked the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) about the sudden glance (which is the glance that happens abruptly, such as when a woman passes by a man so his eyes fall on her unintentionally). So the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "c2">“Avert your gaze;” i.e. turn your eyes right or left so that you do not incur sin by continuous looking.
