Shurayh ibn Hāni' reported: I asked ‘Ā'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her): "What did the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) use to start with upon entering his house?" She said: "With the tooth-stick."
Sahih/Authentic. - [Muslim]

Explanation

‘Ā'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) stated that the first thing the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to do on entering his house was using the tooth-stick. The permissibility of using tooth-stick is general at all times, and it is emphasized at the times recommended in Sunnah, such as when a person enters his house. Perhaps the reason for this is to remove the usual effects of talking too much as a result of gathering with others.
