‘Ā'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) liked comprehensive supplications and discarded others.
Sahih/Authentic. - [Abu Dawood]

Explanation

Whenever the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated, he would choose the most comprehensive supplications. He would use words that had general and comprehensive meanings and choose supplications that had few, yet meaningful words. This however did not apply in all situations. The narrator was just informing us of what she knew, as there are reported supplications that are lengthy and detailed. In fact, both types are permissible.
