Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Perhaps a disheveled, rejected person at the doors, if he were to swear by Allah, He would fulfill his oath."

[Authentic hadith] - [Narrated by Muslim] - [Sahih Muslim - 2622]

Explanation

The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) informed that among people there are those whose hair is tangled and dusty, who do not oil it or wash it frequently. They have no status in the eyes of people, and they are pushed away from doors and rejected out of contempt. However, if they were to swear an oath, Allah would fulfill it in honor of them, ensuring that their request is granted and protecting them from breaking their oath, due to their virtue and status with Allah.

Benefits from the Hadith

  1. Allah does not look at the outward appearance of a slave, but He looks at hearts and deeds.
  2. A person should care more about his actions and the purity of his heart than his body and clothing.
  3. Humility and humbling oneself before Allah are a means for answering supplications. Therefore, Allah Almighty fulfills the oaths of the hidden righteous.
  4. Highlighting the prophetic upbringing of people, so that none of them despises or looks down upon others.
