Hadith: People will retain goodness as long as they hasten to break their fast

عن سهل بن سعد الساعدي رضي الله عنه أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: «لا يزال الناس بخير ما عَجَّلُوا الفطر».

Sahl ibn Sa‘d As-Sā‘idi (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "People will retain goodness as long as they hasten to break their fast."

Explanation

The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) informs us in this Hadīth that people will continue to be upon goodness as long as they hasten to break the fast, because by doing so they are preserving the Sunnah. If they do not do this and they delay the break of the fast, then this will be a proof that goodness has been removed from them for abandoning the Sunnah of the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) upon which he has left his Ummah and to which he has ordered them to adhere.
