Whoever alights somewhere and then says: I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created, nothing will harm him until he leaves that place I know a word that if he said, his rage would go away. If he said: I seek refuge with Allah from the accursed devil, his rage would subside The miser is one in whose presence I am mentioned and who does not invoke the blessings of Allah upon me Whoever eats food and says: Praise be to Allah who fed me and provided me with this food through no might or power on my part), his past sins will be forgiven Whenever the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) went to his bed, he would blow into his hands, recite the Mu‘awwidhāt, and then pass his hands over his body Praise be to Allah Who gave us food and drink, provided for us sufficiently, and gave us shelter, for how many there are who have no one to provide for them or to give them shelter Do not curse the wind. If you see what you dislike thereof, then say: O Allah, we ask You for the good of this wind, the good of what it contains, and the good of what it is ordered to do. We seek refuge with You from the evil of this wind, the evil of what it contains, and the evil of what it is ordered to do May the one who hears my name mentioned before him but does not invoke Allah's peace and blessings upon me be humiliated When you (both) go to your bed say "Allah is the Greatest" thirty-three times "Glory be to Allah" thirty-three times, and "Praise be to Allah" thirty-three times O Allah, I ask You for its good and the good of what is in it and the good of the purpose for which it was sent; and I seek Your refuge from its evil and the evil of what is in it and the evil of the purpose for which it was sent The wind is from the blessings of Allah. It brings mercy, and it brings punishment. When you see it, do not swear at it, but ask Allah for its goodness and seek Allah's refuge from its evil That is Satan who is known as Khinzab. If you perceive his effect, seek refuge with Allah from him and spit three times to your left A man came to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah, I intend to go on a journey, so give me provision. He said: May Allah grant you piety as your provision Whenever the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) finished eating, he would say: Allah be praised with an abundant, sincere, and blessed praise. O our Lord, You are not in need of anyone, and we cannot do without Your favor nor dispense with it A mount was brought to ‘Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) to ride on, and when he put his foot in the stirrup, he said: In the name of Allah When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) traveled, he would seek refuge from the hardships of the journey, from having a change of heart, adverse conditions replacing good ones, the prayer of an oppressed person, and from seeing a misfortune occurring to his family and wealth When any one of you goes to his bed, let him dust off his bed with the end of his lower garment, for indeed he does not know what came unto it after he had left it On sighting the new moon, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) would say: O Allah, let this new moon appear on us with security and faith When we ascended (a high land), we used to say Takbīr, and when we descended, we used to say Tasbīh Abu Sālih used to order us that if anyone of us wanted to sleep, he should lie on his right side These are the signs which Allah sends, not on account of the death of anyone or life of any one, but Allah sends them to frighten His servants thereby. So when you see any such thing, hasten to remember Him, supplicate Him, and beg pardon from Him
