Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) say:
"The heart of an elderly person remains young in two things: in the love of this world and long hopes."
[Authentic hadith] - [Narrated by Bukhari] - [Sahih Bukhari - 6420]
The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) informed that an elderly person grows older and his body weakens, but his heart remains young in its love for two things: First: The love of this world through the accumulation of wealth. Second: Longevity, lifespan, continued living, and enduring hopes.
