Abu Umāmah Iyās ibn Tha‘labah al-Hārithi (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever seizes the right of a Muslim by taking a false oath, Allah will condemn him to Hell and will forbid Paradise for him." One man asked: "O Messenger of Allah, even if it is something insignificant?" He replied: "Yes, even if it is a twig of the Arak tree."
