Indeed, Allah has enjoined Ihsān (kindness/excellence) in all things Every intoxicant is prohibited Verily, Allah has enjoined kindness in all things I went to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and asked: 'We live in the land of the People of the Book; can we eat in their plates?" Two kinds of dead meat and two kinds of blood have been made lawful for you. The two kinds of dead meat are fish and locusts, and the two kinds of blood are the liver and spleen If a fly falls into the drink of any one of you, he should dip it (in the drink) and then remove it, for in one of its wings there is a disease and in the other there is cure Allah sent down the verse wherein He prohibited alcohol at a time when there was no other (intoxicant) drink in Madīnah except that prepared from dates Every intoxicant is Khamr (alcoholic drink), and every intoxicant is prohibited. Whoever drinks Khamr in this world and dies while being addicted to it without repenting will not drink it in the Hereafter It is not a medicine, but an ailment Whatever intoxicates in large amounts, its small amount is forbidden The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) sacrificed two black and white horned rams, which he slaughtered with his hand, as he mentioned Allah's name and said: "Allāhu Akbar" (Allah is the Most Great), and put his foot on their necks We were hosted by Abu Mūsa al-Ash‘ari (may Allah be pleased with him) and he asked for the food to be served and it had chicken meat in it. May Allah destroy the Jews; the fat of animals was forbidden for them, but they melted it and sold it. These animals have instincts like those of the wild beasts, so if you lose control over one of them, treat it in this way We slaughtered a horse and ate it at the time of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade eating the flesh of domestic donkeys and permitted that of horses. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) put me in charge of slaughtering his camels (which he wanted to sacrifice); and to give in charity their meat, skins, and saddle cloths; and not to give any of them to the butcher I saw Ibn ‘Umar passing by a man who had made his camel kneel down so as to slaughter it. We sent some of its meat to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) which he ate When you let loose your trained dog (after a game) and you mention the name of Allah, then eat what it catches for you Whatever is cut from an animal while it is alive, then it is dead flesh The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about making vinegar out of an alcoholic drink. He said: No The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) ordered to kill geckos, saying: They used to blow into [the fire] on Ibrahīm If anyone kills a gecko in the first strike will have one hundred good deeds recorded for him; and with the second strike lesser than that and with the third strike lesser than that The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) liked sweets and honey, and whenever he finished the ‘Asr prayer, he would visit his wives and stay closely with them, one after another. He once visited Hafsah and remained with her for longer than usual forbade (eating the flesh of) all carnivorous animals that have fangs and all birds that have talons Are hyenas a type of game (animal)? Jābir replied: Yes The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade riding the camel that feeds on dung as well as drinking its milk Umm Hufayd, Ibn ‘Abbās's aunt, sent some dried yogurt, ghee (butter), and a mastigure (sand lizard) to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) as a gift If you shoot your arrow and it disappears from sight and you find it later, you may eat it (the game) unless it smells bad Some people said: O Messenger of Allah, meat was brought to us by some people, and we are not sure whether the name of Allah has been mentioned on it or not. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: Mention the name of Allah upon it and eat it A woman slaughtered a sheep with a sharp stone. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about it and he ordered that it be eaten Whoever performs our prayer, faces our Qiblah (direction of the Ka‘bah), and eats from our slaughtered animals—that is the Muslim who enjoys the protection (covenant) of Allah and His Messenger. So do not betray Allah by violating His protection We chased a rabbit at Marr Azh-Zhahrān. The people ran after it but they got tired. O Messenger of Allah, is it forbidden? He said: No. Yet it is not found in the land of my people, and I feel that I have no liking for it. Khālid said: I then chewed and ate it, while the Messenger was looking We participated with the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) in seven battles wherein we ate locusts. Raisins used to be soaked for the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) in a water skin, and he would drink it that day, the next day, and the following day. In the evening of the third day, he would drink it and give some to others. If anything was left, he would spill it We asked the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) about the fetus (of edible animals). He said: Eat it if you wish, for it is considered legally slaughtered with the slaughtering of its mother Whoever keeps a dog, except a dog for hunting or for guarding livestock, his deeds will be reduced by two Qirāts every day Indeed, wine has been declared unlawful
