“There are four (traits); whoever has them is a sheer hypocrite, and whoever has one trait of them has one of the traits of hypocrisy until he gives it up: whenever he speaks, he tells a lie; whenever he makes a covenant, he proves treacherous; whenever he makes a promise, he breaks it; and whenever he is in a dispute, he behaves in a shameless immoral manner Shall I inform you of the gravest of the major sins? The major sins are associating partners with Allah, undutifulness to parents, murder, and intentional false oath “Avoid the seven destructive sins When two Muslims meet to fight each other with their swords, both the killer and the killed are doomed to Hellfire Verily, the example of the righteous companion and the evil companion is like that of the carrier of the musk and the blower of the bellows No soul gets killed wrongfully without the first son of Adam taking guilt for its blood because he was the first to institute the practice of murder All of my Ummah may be forgiven except those who commit sin openly The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about the foremost deed that leads people to Paradise, and he replied: Fear of Allah and good character. Then, he was asked about the most things that lead people into Hellfire, and he said: The tongue and the private parts Shall I tell you what ‘ada is? When I was taken on an ascent to heaven, I passed by a group of people (in Hellfire) with copper nails scratching their faces and chests There are three to whom Allah will not speak on the Day of Judgment, nor will He purify them, and they will incur a painful punishment When Allah wants to punish a people, the punishment befalls whoever is among them, then they will be resurrected according to their deeds The most rebellious of people against Allah, Exalted and Glorified, is someone who kills another in the sacred precincts of Allah May Allah curse the thief who steals an egg and his hand is cut off for that, and he steals a rope and his hand is cut off for that Among those who were before you, there was a man who had an injury. He was impatient, so he took a knife and made a cut in his hand and bled to death. Allah Almighty said: My slave hastened to bring about his demise; I have forbidden Paradise for him Whoever throws himself from a mountain and kills himself will be in Hellfire, falling down into it and abiding therein eternally forever Beware of insignificant sins
