Hadith: Allah, the Almighty, says: I am with My slave as long as he remembers Me and his lips move saying My Name

عَنْ كَرِيمَةَ ابْنَةِ الْحَسْحَاسِ الْمُزَنِيَّةِ قَالَتْ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه، وَنَحْنُ فِي بَيْتِ هَذِهِ -يَعْنِي أُمَّ الدَّرْدَاءِ-: أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْثُرُه عَنْ رَبِّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَنَّهُ قَالَ:

«أَنَا مَعَ عَبْدِي مَا ذَكَرَنِي وَتَحَرَّكَتْ بِي شَفَتَاهُ».

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah, the Almighty, says: 'I am with My slave as long as he remembers Me and his lips move saying My Name.'"

النص المقترح عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال : قال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم : " يقول الله تعالى : أنا عند ظن عبدي بي، وأنا معه إذا ذكرني، فإن ذكرني في نفسه ذكرته في نفسي، وإن ذكرني في ملأ ذكرته في ملأ خير منهم، وإن تقرب إلي بشبر تقربت إليه ذراعا، وإن تقرب إلي ذراعا تقربت إليه باعا، وإن أتاني يمشي أتيته هرولة ". الفروق

Explanation

This Hadīth indicates that whoever remembers Allah, Allah is close to him and is with him in all of his affairs. He grants him success, guides him, supports him, and answers his supplication. Another Hadīth with the same meaning was narrated by Al-Bukhāri: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah, the Almighty, said: 'I am as my slave thinks of me, and I am with him as he remembers Me. If he remembers Me in himself, then I shall remember him in Myself, and If he remembers Me in a congregation, then I shall remember him in a better congregation.'"
