Hadith: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to grant some of those whom he sent in a detachment a special share of the war booty, apart from other members of the army.
عن عَبْدُ الله بن عمر رضي الله عنهما «أَنَّ رَسُولَ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ يُنَفِّلُ بَعْضَ مَنْ يَبْعَثُ فِي السَّرَايَا لأَنْفُسِهِمْ خَاصَّةً سِوَى قَسْمِ عَامَّةِ الْجَيْشِ».
