We used to pay it (Zakat al-Fitr) as one Sā‘ of food, or one Sā‘ of barley, or one Sā‘ of dry crumbled milk, or one Sā‘ of raisins The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) made it obligatory for every male and female, the free and the slave, to pay Sadaqat al-Fitr (or said Sadaqat Ramadan) No Zakah is to be paid by the Muslim on his slave or horse
