The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) died when my house was void of any edible thing except for a small quantity of barley I had on a shelf and from which I kept eating it for a long time. If you wish, I can stay seven (nights) with you, but if I stay seven with you, I will also stay seven with my (other) wives I could not disclose the secret of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him). Had the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) not proposed to her, I would have accepted (to marry) her Fear Allah and keep your wife I never felt jealous of any of the Prophet's wives except for Khadījah although I did not see her.
